So guys, what is a good fit for ratting Guristas Anoms with a Machariel?

I am also thinking about buying another char in the future. How well would a Legion work for Guristas ratting? Laser fit, missile fit, etc. I'm not too interested in a Proteus or Loki, maybe a Tengu if it's better than a Legion.

I suggest lots of officer mods on the Mach. And let me know where you are living so I can send some friends to help you rat.

But seriously. This is why its bad for a new player to buy a high SP toon. Its a bit comical actually.

As much as I hate the tengu, It really is the best t3 for ratting. It works really well as long as you don't care how long it takes to run Anomalies/complexes or how slowly it makes you isk.

Mach is not that great against guristas because they tend to stay at range. Ideally you would want a drone boat because they jam. Any drone boat will do as long as you can drop 5 garde IIs and have a bunch of drone damage mods in lows.

Drone boats also scale well for PvE because you can delegate drones to assist someone so if you have several pilots it's easier to multi-box. Drone assist mechanic might change though because most null dwellers are whining about domi fleets and perfect alpha.

Don't get a mach, get a vindi. Works a lot better. HAM tengu works better for guristas anoms than a mach. I say this from experience...

... What next ??

So do you have a fit for HAM Tengu and a Vindi? I only have Large Hybrids at 3 currently, but my other Gunnery supports are at 4 or 3. I might by a Tengu char in a month or so after I make enough ISK from incursions

Mach works fine in nullsec guristas sites. Vindi pulls in higher ticks, but not much else does. The fit posted above will be fine ... mine had an AB fit rather than MWD.

The comments about blinging-up your ship so people get good KMs on you do have some merit ... but only if ou're stupid enough to get caught. The chance of that happening will prolly increase come November and the interceptor buff, especially with the not-very-long-ago guiristas anom changes increasing the likelihood of you being pointed/scrammed (whatever) by the rats.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Ham tengu ,for anomalies i use this for serpentis but can tank as well vs guristas ... thinker with the mods to fit your budget.

Tank 850 versus Serpentis 800 versus Guristas, you will have to play with the shield resists a little to compensate for the dmg that guristas do but 800 is more then enough for an anomaly any way.
i Get around 23 - 24 million ticks running sanctums solo probably not as good as a machariel but more cheaper.

confirming the ham tengu is fantastic at serpentis/gurista anoms. 900+ dps with good application, plenty of speed with a faction or c-type afterburner, damage on the rats lowest resist, they deal damage on your highest resist. Even without speedtanking you can facetank with a pithum c-type med booster and 2 hardeners. I think the cpu can get a bit tight without faction damage mods, but it doesn't really matter.

I tend to prefer the 3/7/6 layout with an emergent locus analyzer (can still get 900+ dps with only 3 mods), but against guristas you might prefer the sub that gives a sensor strength bonus.

Mach is superb as well but has some issues. It takes more damage, doesn't have resists, and loses some of its dps edge to range and that it can only shoot thermal instead of kinetic, the weakest resist. However its very mobile, and depending on how much you spent on rigs/tank, you can easily close range to get higher dps, then cut engines to 0m/s and use sentry drones to apply even more.

Lol not sure if serious or what. how old a char are u? And u want to fly a blinged up Mach around nullsec? What do u intend to do when the locals show up?

A Mach in nullsec is asking to be ganked. a T2 fitted T1 battleship is about the shiniest thing I'll rat with in null. While a Mach might make a bit more isk per tick, you'll put yourself back in the red as soon as you lose it. And you WILL lose it.
