Please help me decide what to train next

So im part way to training for a vargur.

definitely getting awu 5 next that will not change but after that should i bother continuing on for a varg?

ive seen from other peoples posts on F&I discussion that the range bonus of bastion mode is stacking penalised.

So either i fit more gank and have less range outisde of bastion or i fit the TE's and get a mediocre increase in range when in bastion.

that being said the vargur does get a massive tank so i assuming with the mjd bonus im intended to just mjd into all the rats activate bastion and punch the rats in thier faces. is this correct?

anyway im torn between actually going for the vargur or skipping to my rocket skill training and associated support skills for missiles/rockets. (some 140 - 150 days of training in total i think)

This is becuase i want to get into a vengeance for pvp which i enjoy immensly, however again i need funding for the pvp so maybe the vargur is the way to go.

i currently have a mach which can do missions fast enough but ccp have said a couple of times now that they are going to nerf it.

so do i go for the vargur or go for the rockets?

Go for the Vargur. Gonna be a monster.

I keep hearing about this Mach nerf but can find no discussion with the Devs, Could you please link?

I assumed it was the opposite... given the range bonuses of bastion:

Activate MJD to get 100km away from rats, enter bastion mode and snipe rats... when they close the distance, at the end of a bastion cycle, punch the MJD again, and re enter bastion, continue sniping.

why would you? autocannons have enough tracking to deal with stuff close and personal and your tank... well, let's just say people tank incursions solo in bastion mode.

The range bonus of bastion is currently stacking penalised.This mean u dont get the full 25% range increase when u have other range mods on ur ship. So (as i said in the original post) u can either fit more gank on your ship allowing in to not be penalised and therefore to get the full effect of bastion range. however this will mean outside of bastion ur range will be crappy.

Also with the tractor beam bonus still there it would be better to jump into all the rats and kill them up close so u can loot and salvage easier
