Is it ok to report people if they offend and harass me with homophobic terms?

Looks like OP is butthurt, homophobic and a hater, and fails to comprehend the difference between homophobic slurs and greetings between manly men who are comfortable with their sexuality. I say hater is why would you want to use such terms if you didn't hate homosexuality? No point to it, other than being an infantile doo doo head.

The law only hits when you phisically engage in an aggressive manner towards someone, even a small touching could be taken as such, but not words directly spoken to one another.
Unless you continuously keep doing, which is not the case of a one time "fags" event obviously.


Could you please verify that theory by finding an annoyed cop and going through a list of personal insults directed against him? I think that might give you some perspective on when and how the law "hits" Lol

Call them all fags and by their reaction you will find if the term is offensive.


if you just walk up to a group of local males where i live and say "fags" and make it sound like a question you're likely to get an answer along the lines of "sorry, i don't smoke" rather than "no, i'm not a homosexual"

Actually you are wrong.

You can be arrested in the UK for calling people names which can be deemed homophobic.

This can can come under the The Public Order Act.

The Public Order Act makes certain things an offense such as harassment and causing hatred and unrest which can lead to violence etc.

I also believe the following acts also cover this.

Crime and Disorder Act 98
Public Order Act 86
Protection from Harrassment Act 97

So yes, if you go up to a group of people and call them names which are deemed to be homophobic you can be arrested.

The reason is because most of society deems the word "***" when used in a certain context to be unacceptable as it is being used a derogatory term.

Also just because you do not get upset does not mean other people wont. If somebody calls me a "***" I couldn't care less, I have been called a lot worse but that is just me as a person.

I can still accept that other people may find being called this upsetting / offensive therefore if I chose to use this word and was then reported, fair enough.

It is my own fault for using it to begin with.

CCP and society in general finds the use of certain words in certain contexts to be offensive, while I use the word fags around my friends to refer to cigarettes, I certainly wouldn't use it around strangers in case someone takes offence and kicks my teeth in.

It's not socially acceptable to apply words such as fags, b/coons, the short form of chinese, the spanish for black or any of their derivatives, to people, and rightly so. If you have a problem with CCPs interpretation of words you should take it up with them, or alternatively give me your stuff and go forth in the direction of off, by using pelvic thrusts.
