Is it ok to report people if they offend and harass me with homophobic terms?

IRL I refuse to donate blood. There are certain "people" I don't want to give mine to...

Everyone is always repeating the mantra "Don't Trust Anyone" ad nauseum... If I can't trust the guys I play with, why bother playing with them at all? Fly Solo...

Here is a test to see if the word is offensive.

Got out to your local town center and walk up to the first group of males you see.

Call them all fags and by their reaction you will find if the term is offensive.

This.

I don't condone homosexuality or the lifestyle associated with it. But, I think everyone has a right to live their life how they please.

Those offensive terms are associated to homosexuality, and therefore when you use it, in any sort of way, it is offensive to everyone. Not just homosexuals.

It's easy to point fingers at how 'stupid' something is until you're the one being segregated.

There is a HUGE difference between words and actions.

I can say whatever the **** i want to someone.. I cant beat him up.
Now in eve ppl use the gms that take action against you just because someone didnt like something that you said.

What YOU think its an offense I think it is not.. I think actions are a lot more offensive than simple words.

But then AGAIN, just wanna bring it down to a clear term.. Is it the word or the meaning?

You just made your point, i can call ppl fags, its not against the law.

And again is it the word or the meaning? If its the word then we need a list of prohibited words.
If it the meaning then whos in here to judge it? A random gm that cant even sight when someone is trolling?

Lmk..

You assume a lot with this post:

First - That you actually can call the cops quick enough to make a coherent phone call before they break your jaw.

Second - That you can report them to the police at all.

Third - A night in jail might be worth it to bonk punks like you.

Yes you can...
The law only hits when you phisically engage in an aggressive manner towards someone, even a small touching could be taken as such, but not words directly spoken to one another.
Unless you continuously keep doing, which is not the case of a one time "fags" event obviously.

It is completely on topic. The point is that the word is offensive. The WORD. And what are words? A way to convey meaning, a description, something.

So your question, is the word or meaning offensive? Both.

You really need to tell you mom to cancel your sub so you can get out and see the world a bit. You are extraordinarily sheltered.

FYI assault is the feeling of endangerment. Battery is physical engagement.

So yes, words are considered assault.

No matter what country you live in, your right to say absolutely anything is not protected by law

In some countries, publicly saying various things is punishable under the terms of the law

Only in the sense that you can kill anyone you want. But from a legal perspective, no, you can't. Hate speech and abuse is pretty much universally excluded from free speech (if such a thing is even legally provided), and for good reason.

Assault is only if you put them in immediate fear. The sort of stuff on eve would prob come under a public order offense, like how people get arrested for stuff they post on twitter against celebrities. I think the question is, once plod sees that your eve account doesn't have your real name on top of it to make an easy arrest, are they gonna bother requesting account details and stuff from iceland. Doubt it.

Dunno what country you're from, but here in the US there are two notions you should keep in mind.
The first is "Verbal Assault", yes, it's real. and yes, they can arrest you for it.
The second is the concept of "Aggravated Assault", as in you provoked them into beating the snot out of you.
Lighten the hell up, but at the same time don't be a douchetard. Seriously.
