Title: DAMAGE DEALER 5
Duration: 26+ minutes
Resolution: 720 (HD)

Ships flown: Myrmidon, Sleipnir, Thorax, Tempest, Rokh.

Introduction:

This story started back in the 2006 when i decided to start my own solo pvp path, flying bc's, bs's... among other ships. I even did dual account when things got hard. But in these times it's even more difficult, with a lot of blobs and people living in low sec regions. So when i got back after 4 years off the grid (out of EVE), i had to face a whole new level and/or reality. It was very difficult to adapt myself to a new pvp system (tech 1 competitive, and cheap... so more people ganking skilled characters with low isk risk... = more often, more people living in lowsec, etc).

This video is 2 things: It says "I'm still here, i'm still fighting", and second... it's a transformation of being a newbie (among the new mechanics, in general), to be the damage dealer one more time. I really tried, and... judge yourself.

I won´t show the best owned engages, but all kind of them: loses, wins, ... a transformation trough mistakes and learning. The win win will probably come with the Damage Dealer 6 (which is being done during the rest of 2013), or at least i hope so Lol

Judge, give me feedback, enjoy, and try to be polite :) I take criticism the best i can, but don´t like rudeness.

Man that was good!

I cried out "FUUUUUUCK!" very loudly when you got pointed a second before you would have warped out of the second to last fight. ^^

Have you considered using MJDs? They are awesome for solo BSs.

Dude, did you see i JUMPED into highsec? Lol I didn´t lose the ship hehe. It was one thing or the other, i rather warping, cause they still got consentual counter, but even in highsec i managed to warp to station :)

Oh yeah, I guess I closed my eyes while shouting out, that's why I didn't see the jump. Got confused because you were "aligning" to something.

PS: You didn't answer my Q about MJDs.

Yes, i use them, not very often i must say, but sometimes. I won´t tell in what bs's i got them hehe. But i suppose you'll see me using the MJD in the next Damage Dealer 6 (on the run, atm).

Now, I'm not saying it's a thing, but isn't it a coincidence you do a lot better once you can see the type of ships you're facing on your overview. Unfortunately, this drops us about 20mins into the vid Blink

Good good.

Don't forget one thing about the ancillary shield booster : always run them as fast as possible.
You're waiting wayyyyy too much sometimes with a few charges remaining. Better restarted the reload as soon as possible. Blink

I thought this was pretty good. I think it takes too long to get going; one false start is fine but you have two or three and it starts to feel old, especially when coupled with the stately speed of things.

But I thought your fight against Prometheus was excellent and I enjoyed the Tempest stuff too. Next time just try to trim the fat a little.

If you read the video description, here and in youtube, you'll understand why i left that "fat" to be seen. :)

The video was ok etc etc others have commented on editiing blah blah.

What I really enjoyed was watching another like minded solo PvP'er who enjoys the hunt.

I can certainly relate to engaging more people only for them to bring in 5+ people, I mean heaven forbide someone might actually die in a "fair" fight.

why on earth didnt you jsut burn in and kill that omen navy in ec- lol Big smile.

The first half of this video was very depressing and pretty much what you can expect from trying to solo at peak times. People so desperate for kills that the alarms will sound far and wide as soon as a thorax is pointed on a gate in lowsec.

Hahaha, i totally agree. Someone had to show how solo pvp is like, truly XD. But don´t get too depressed, i'll show less fails, and more "yays" next one :D

I hope you enjoyed it anyways XD.

P.D: I tried to burn to the omen navy a few times, but he had mwd+skirmish bonus + nanosetup XD. Even in my mwd fitted sleip i wouldn´t have catched him. Anyways he left almost in structure. (Pay attention to my next chapter, because i'll fly faster ships, and bigger ones... not to mention i'm starting a new saga too hehe)

keep up the good work dude, and respect for your endless attempts :). you understand what small gang and solo pvp is about, and the more people who see it and actually understand how fun it could be, the better! i mean honestly... do people actually enjoy warping in 12 people at the last second to whore onto a thorax killmail?

Do you know what did they say in local after i say: Seriously? For a thorax km?

They answered me: "Overkill allways better". That's lame, but as you said, there are more and more of "us" every single day. And as long as we keep doing pvp in "insane mode" difficulty (solo these days), it'll be ok :)

Don´t worry, i never give up :D I'll keep posting more and more material.

If you read the video description, here and in youtube, you'll understand why i left that "fat" to be seen. :)



I tend to download most of the stuff on here, but I did read your description on the difficulty of solo pvp beforehand.

I appreciate that, but my point was that those opening 'failed' fights got more attention than they warranted. You wanted to make it clear that you've suffered for your art, but you dedicated full airtime to them when a snappy montage would have been slicker.
As it was, the length of them lessened the impact of the message for me.

Anyway, that's a minor gripe. I enjoyed the rest of it!

This is good stuff and gives me added confidence with my solo. I get very frustrated sometimes by getting blobbed and ECM'd. Its good to know that its the way the game is for the solo pilot in general, not just me. I try to bring out larger ships from time to time but I have yet to have a "GOOD" fight, i have always lost the ship in a blob fire, or ECMd.

Its cant be balanced that a Griffin can ECM a battlecruiser can it be?

Looked up...saw this F***ING clown dropping like a rock.  Woke up in Vylade wondering what just happened!!!
