EVE Launcher Patch Check on Pressing Launch

I have a tendency to leave the EVE Launcher up and running for extended periods. There only seems to be a check to see if a new patch version has been posted when you first start the launcher. Could we get a second check after you've signed in to a particular account and are then pressing the Launch button? It's rather annoying to launch the game find out it's a bad version, receive a download option that doesn't work with the patcher running and then have to close the game and launcher and start again.
