So I already know you all are smarter than me... so

Why get super high standings for any one faction.
I already know
Level 5 agents need corp standings over 7
POS placements in 7.0 needs over 7 for faction space.

but why greater than unmodified 7 ?
please lay out as much as you know folks..... I need glasses.

Bragging rights. Even then they wouldn't be worth very much compared to killing something like a Revenant or LE ship.

When Bon Scott died and he appeared before St. Peter at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter looked at his record and told him he couldn't get in. Just then, God screams at Peter, "Let him in, Karen Carpenter is driving me nuts. I want to hear some music with balls. We'll haggle over the paperwork later." At least I hope that's what happened.

To allow you to decline missions freely without your standings dropping too low.

There used to be special offers of navy ships that required 9.0 standings, is that still in the game?

i think there are a few cosmos agents which require high standing.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Isn't there something about getting bpc's that have a higher number of runs or am I thinking of something else?

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

I doubt that's the case.

I've heard it from multiple people. Either you have a high standing grinding missions or faction warfare, or something, where part of the reward is a bpc, or the ones you buy in the lp store- something like you get a 2 run bpc instead of 1 run for a ship or something.

It all sounded like an awful lot of concentrated effort, so I never bothered.

Buying jump clones requires standing 8 if I remember correctly.

Also, your refining capability increases as your standing with the station owner does.

I'm pretty sure both of those are based on modified standings. By the time you get to 7 unmodified, your modified would be higher than 8 unless you absolutely refused to train any of those skills.

Sales taxes scale all the way up to 10 I believe (still modified)

I forget about the JUMP clone standings with the corp of over 8.
I didn't know about the BPC offer... (I wonder if this one is actually profitable)

Thanks all.

Going from 7 unmodified to 9.90 for the 2 run BS BPC offers is a giant grind!

It will take you twice as long as going from no standing to 7.0

Yes, well said.... but

Is it profitable.

EDIT: I did some research on the topic more and looks like the faction ship bpc offers are a one time deal.... so that is no way worth the grind and empire penalty, unless you're going to do it anyway for the fun of it. Since with the cost of materials to make the ships and the competitive nature of the market, you may make a few hundred million ISK out of it, when that's just about 3 to 4 hours of missioning game time... you can lose that forgetting your in the wrong side of empire if you're overall standings are under -5 somewhere.

Basically. It can give you some breathing room should your agents start giving you scores of crap missions like mine do on occasion.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
