I heard that few CCP developers are leaving CCP for League of Legends so I decided to check LOL homepage and promo material. This thread is for everyone to discuss about League of Legends.

First impression is that it looks a lot like WOW. Same kind of talent tree and skill system. Gameplay videos seems to show that it has no first person view so that's bad in my world. Promo video was quite awesome but that don't carry far. Game name is very sexy sounding. Homepage has lots of good artwork.

End result is that game itself doesn't look very interesting. There are tons of WOW clones out there. I wish game developers would make more original looking games and not just cloning same model over and over again.

They are just taking a cue from the most 'successful' industry in America.....Hollywood.

Probably is and im going to bite anyway

I do like LoL, but i play it very casually. I do not do ranked because of how toxic 4 other players can be when they think you are the one dragging a team down and ruining their ELO.

Also for me LoL is that game i play in between games. to each his own

LOL - Instant fun short pvp, average 20min-1hour long pvp, depend map.
LOL - Horrible community most worse in world.

Personaly i play sometimes ARAM (all mid all random, short game) just because i got a lot work in real life, and no time for sinking inside EvE, but winter is very soon i come back soon , i dream about EvE and spending time here like before.

EvE isn't game, its style of living.

I played League Of Legends a few times. It was rubbish. A Cheap version of DOTA.

i prefer LOL over dota... but both are a quickfire short game when i need a quick 20-45 min to kill

What I need most.. is a day between Saturday and Sunday...

I play Lawlz, more often than DoTA despite that I like DoTA more. Community is ... well, if I have to pick which is better, it'd be DoTA by a long shot.

In gold rank from what I notice, public game is 90% more toxic players. :s Which is why I play rank most of the time now.

Now... IF only Riot games remove flash for summoner spell ... :P

^ Agreed here. I play LoL casually, and the PVP is very toxic. There's measures to report or penalize abusive players and even teammates but the whole idea is that having to invest close to an hour in a bad PVP match (which often exceeds the good ones for me since I rarely can get a full team of friends on) just puts me in a sour mood. However, the surplus of characters is very fun and some of the playing styles are unique which I enjoy.

It's not a MMO, of course, but a MOBA. We be trolled.

As for DoTA? I think it has promise and I have some very committed friends who play it frequently. My issue is that it has an incredibly steep learning curve and I had already invested heavily in LoL before I had tried it. Therefore, the desire to pursue mastery in DotA just wasn't there when I had a similar game with characters unlocked and skins bought.

Finally someone else agrees P That being said I play DotA 2/HoN/LoL with no real preferences. LoL tends to have shorter queues/games out of the three, but the mechanics of HoN/DotA 2 as well as some really unique Heroes make up for the queue times and length.
