Cloaking in a half finished complex.

Will the site despair if my all is cloaked off the 1st acceleration gate?

If I remember correctly, if you have killed a trigger and leave the site. Yes they will. Being cloaked in a site I believe has the same affect after a period (Not 100% on this one)

some sites only have triggers at the end, some have triggers at intermediate stages that flag the site as complete. It really depends.

In general, if you've killed an overseer and you then cloak the site will despawn. Likewise, if you've hacked a can in a mag/radar (haven't checked this on combat ladars since the minigame/bukake thing came out but it's likely true there as well) and then cloak then the site will despawn.

I can confirm what others are saying. I was doing a Null Plex a few days ago and 3 people came into local just as I finished the first room so I cloaked up and went semi afk for an hour until they left. Site was still there.

They tried to scan me but it was an escalation and I was cloaked so suck it to them :)

True story. Friend and I were running an 8/10 when he found a 10/10 with his alt. Priority first, we left the 8/10 with only the final room remaining. He takes his alt back to the 8/10 system while we are running the 10/10 and the 8/10 is no longer on scanner. After finishing the 10/10, we go back to the system with the 8/10 and warp to the Bookmarks we had for it. While it was dropped from scanner, the complex was still there.

However, We have also found many 8/10's from scanning that someone had run all but the last room . In my experience, I have never known a complex to actually "despair" untill the final overseer was popped. Also, I have popped many final overseer stations in a 9/10 and the complex does "despair" when my alt is there cloaked up.

The skinny... If a complex has been flagged as finished, a cloaked ship will not hold it there.

Serpentis 10/10 from experience despawned after killing first two rooms oversears and having to leave/cloak due to hostiles. We returned and it was gone, petition made and we was informed its 'mechanics' working as intented. xD

Once a site is started a timer is started, once that expires the site despawns.

For data/relic that time was decreased after the exploring update, because people only took the good stuff and the crap was left around. I suppose each type and variant have their own timers lenght wise.

Way back when i first stumbled on a serpentis 4/10 in my rupture it took me hours to even get close to the battleship, when i finally engaged it, i pulled too much aggro and warped out and in again. When i came back the complex and wrecks were still there but all the rats had disappeared, all except the battleship which i then killed. I dont recall checking whether or not it was still in the scan list.

On the other hand, there was a lowsec escalation i did a while ago that had over a hundred rats spawn in it as well as the main target (blood factory overseer iirc), i sniped the battleship and had to cloak due to company and soon after all the rats along with the site ornaments disappeared. Luckily the wrecks were still there though so instead of killing everything for another hour i could just go and loot.

That's pretty much how it works. Kill the overseer? Despawn triggers. Don't kill the overseer? No despawn.

Despawn? Wrecks are there and any deadspace restrictions are gone (ie, you can warp right to the wrecks). Nothing else remains, including things like red cans.

Cloaking is treated just like leaving for all of this. Once you've triggered a despawn and leave the site -- or cloak -- the despawn actually happens. It won't happen around you (or, well, it isn't supposed to; I have seen it do that once or twice) but if you cloak up for a minute or two or leave for the same amount of time, everything will be disappear.

I did shipyard the other day. Was webbed in beta room. I popped that overseer and figured rather than slow oat to gate back to main room I would warp out and back in to do final room and big overseer. Complex despawned.

That is false information (for combat sites at least imo) . For most sites the despawn trigger is killing the overseer/escalation trigger. I have, um, sat hours cloaked on half finished DED sites to, um, 'look at the gate'.

I do remember some weird sites, however. For instance i think the Mul-Zatah Monastery was notorious for despawning if you left the first room.

What i don't like at all is that with the new scanning interface some signatures disappear from the scanner before the site itself is actually finished. It mostly involves proficiency sites tho.

Are you talking about the despawning site decloaking your ship? Yeah that's weird - sometimes it does that - i think it actually sort of 'warps off' and sometimes your ship is in the way ... or something. Ugh

That too, but I actually meant being in a site uncloaked and seeing it despawn. Only happened on a spotty connection for me so I would assume that the game thought I was gone -- but my client thought otherwise.

Yeah if your on grid it wont disappear, I have started a site and had a bad come in and burned away and cloaked on grid with the plex and it did'ent despawn.. As long as you arE on grid somewhere with part of the plex ie.. gate, wreak, structure whatever it wont despawn..


The trick is always make a BM of the first gate so if baddies come in warp from inside the plex to that gate at like 20 and cloak .. the site wont despawn and you will be cloaked so they cant find you
