I like the DX11 pipeline so far. From what I noticed, I think it even runs a bit smoother on my machine compared to TQ (Geforce GTX 680 on Windows 8).

BUT WHERE ARE DA PICTURZ!!!11???? :D

@Azrin: I really hope we'll see hull breaking effects etc. Although that might be a bad thing, cause I'd fly around with broken hulls just too see the effects... :(

Awesome! Finally some good news and the people with crap pcs can keep their stinking dx9 while we use dx11 :D

I'm glad to see CCP finally taking this very important step... and I think your initial deployment strategy is wise. This avoids a lot of the outrage that would have come with just "switching over", although we all know that eventually everyone will have to get their rigs up to speed with DX11 when the time comes to introduce effects that can't be ignored by sticking with DX9.

As much as I want new eye candy as soon as possible, for the sake of those with older equipment in our community I'm glad you guys are playing this smart.

Hoping we'll see better use of Ambient Occlusion and post-processing effects (like Bokeh effects - especially over planets)

Hope to see the mentioned devblog with DX11 goodies soon™

Also a side question - better anti-aliasing? No matter the level set now, we see those jagged lines on all the ships and stations anyway, kind'a bothers me from time to time.

@CCP great to hear this, specially since I just upgraded from GTX560 to 680! cannot wait to see dx features appear in the client for some truly graphic bonanza!

I'm super excited about this! Great job CCP - I love that you're releasing it in a basic mode first so you can bulletproof it, rather than just rolling out a bunch of new features that immediately break. Good QA step.

I can't wait to see what new features do eventually get added though. Big smile

Can DX9 version of Trinity expect to receive new features (those which can be implemented under dx9) or will it be put into "support only" mode and all future graphic improvements will be strictly DX11 even if they are doable under DX9? It's quite an important question for people to plan their future hardware and\or OS upgrades.

“• Does this affect the Mac? No, Mac will continue to use DX9.”

Ok… but will att affect the Mac in a near-to-mid future? What is the current state of Cider in regards to these APIs?

This should be a headline feature for Rubicon!

I know it's not coming with new DX11 assets, but wow, this is great to hear!
