There used to be a time when I thought I was the only Indian guy playing EVE. However, early on I was invited to the EVE India public channel, originally started by Zaxana: http://www.eve-search.com/thread/995620-0/page/1

It's tough learning to play this game without advice from older veteran players (some things you can't learn from paper), and I believe the initial experience can make or break your long-term plan. Even your willingness to continue playing.

Zaxana and others have helped me to a great extent and told me the finer points of EVE political history, such as his experience as a Goon pilot fighting in the Great Wars. Though very small at first, the channel has grown considerably. We've helped each other out, gained new friends, and I've been able to teach some players myself (two who became my corpmates). I played many different MMORPGs in the last twelve years and there's nothing that matches the social aspect of EVE and how much it influences what happens, be it politics or space-violence.

Over the years it became apparent that there are a lot more Indians playing the game than we think; Indians playing from India, Indians born and based in the US (like penifSMASH and me), and from other countries. We are few but our presence has been nothing less than significant. That number is growing as the game evolves, as we all tread our individual paths.

EVE India is a small but unyielding community and I think it's time that the world knows that we are here. We have players from CFC, TEST, PL, and literally all corners of New Eden. Anyone can join, regardless of race or nationality.

PvP tactics is a subject we often discuss. We have fought in many wars since 2006, and on opposing sides in current conflicts. Some old bitter veterans no longer play, some stick around to this day, and new blood comes in once in a while.

It is my hope that more Indian players find us and represent, as the game enters its second decade.

Yeah, it has been quite a while now, and over the years I am seeing new Indian players in eve. I still remember my initial days in early 2007 and getting excited over using rail gun ammo when I moved up from a rookie ship to a frigate Big smile

We now have some awesome people from various part of the country. Some of them are very good at PvP and have a good grasp over 0.0 politics, others like me are veteran carebears Lol, some are aspiring to be wormholers and a few are into lowsec warfare. So quite an interesting bunch of folks Blink

Lets hope EVE India grows more and more.

I've got friends in eve from all over the world which Is a good thing, certainly an enriching experience, but as long as people are on similar time zones to you so you can interact what difference does it make where they come from, embrace them all I say, why restrict yourself to only indian players. Apologies if I've misunderstood, but English is not my first language.

Why do you want to organise yourself along national lines in a game in which real life nationality is unimportant?

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

This isn't a corp or alliance recruitment thread. It's an invitation for people, both Indian and non-Indian, to come hang out in the "Eve India" channel.

Also there are numerous successful corps and alliances that recruit primarily based on national or linguistic guidelines. For example: HUN Reloaded (Hungarian), C0VEN (Polish), SOLAR FLEET (Russian speaking), and too many corps to list here.

Apologies, as I said I am not a native english speaker, I missunderstood the original post, probably due to tiredness and typing late at night.

There is no major corp that has a majority of Indian players and/or advertises itself that way that I know of. There may be single corps out there dedicated to the Indian TZ (which is essentially early Euro/AUS/Oceanic) but no large alliances of that nature exist. Alliances of Russian and Australian nationality would typically play during the Indian TZ.

However, like in real life, Indians are ubiquitous in nature, spread across New Eden even in the most random of places.

EVE India is the only common channel that exists. Like penifSMASH has stated, this channel isn't designed toward a particular corp or alliance, and has players from many different places - neutral, friendly, and even those currently at war.

The purpose of EVE India is to be a place where Indians from all over the world (and non-Indians as well) can chill, discuss tactics, ask questions when they need help, and share war stories.
