Read my last post. I know what Watergate was. Learn not to assume.

Good to get some closure, I know some of us got a bit angry over the mistakes that were made and doubted whether there was any point in continuing the farce that is CSM. Deep down we knew that in the end it would all be handled professionally and we could get on with the game that we love with lessons learnt.

Edit: Sorry for making a new thread but I couldn't find any open on the topic.

It's a reference to Watergate. Google it.

I know what it is. The Watergate scandal took place in the Watergate Hotel, a place that exists and has the word 'gate' already in it, making it relevant. The only thing I can think of that might make sense is suddenly, everyone wants to uncover some big scandal and they want their scandal to be just as big as Watergate, so they use 'gate' on the end to make it seem bigger than it is. It is most frequently used, I've noticed, when there is no scandal at all, like Climategate, or this rubbish.

Okay, so you seem to know where the suffix 'gate' comes from. Now we just need to clear up your definition of 'scandal'..

scan·dal (skndl)
n.
1. A publicized incident that brings about disgrace or offends the moral sensibilities of society: a drug scandal that forced the mayor's resignation.
2. A person, thing, or circumstance that causes or ought to cause disgrace or outrage: a politician whose dishonesty is a scandal; considered the housing shortage a scandal.
3. Damage to reputation or character caused by public disclosure of immoral or grossly improper behavior; disgrace.
4. Talk that is damaging to one's character; malicious gossip.

i dunno, the fact that eterne told us to post in 2 completely unrelated topics does tell us that he can't comprehend the difference in issues being discussed.
or, he, like many other people simply didn't bother to read the thread before posting.

CCP must be run by idiots in a very disorganized manner. Imagine this:

You get a great job working on a project you love as an at-will employee. Your boss comes in and tells you to do the most insane thing possible that you think will sabotage your project. Do you tell your boss he is an idiot or do you go along with it knowing you'll lose your job if you say anything.

Seems like everyone in PR for CCP is an idiot or too at-will to say anything. To bad one department run by idiots has to ruin what is normally a pretty fun game (at times).

God. They give out what, 30 scorpions and people start bitching up a storm. Talk about pathetic.

Please, unsub. Get out of here. Or contribute to the community and have a chance at getting rewarded for the effort if you manage to do something major. Most of the people bitching have zero chance to get any reward for doing anything because they are too stupid to set anything decent up in the first place.

If you know what Watergate was then you know why they throw "gate" on the end of a word directed at a scandal FFS.

Indeed, because its all about who gets the rewards from CCP now.. It used to be a spaceship game where the game content was how you earned stuff. I already unsubed btw. I only have one account, so no big deal, it will run out in January

I predict they continue with this stupidity and sooner or later even the slow ones will get it why it is a bad idea. I will see it in the news and soon after return to read the apologies, to amuse myself on the new promises about how awesome it will be from now on. And then I will resub because i'm stupid. or not!

Funny thing is, it still is. So a select few that have had an impact on the eve community get some random collectors ship, so what? I think the guys who make the fitting tools for the game should be rewarded in the same way. And Chribba, don't forget him.

I want to see a Chribba Issue Veldnaught. I hate miners but his contributions have been amazing.
