Quantity of exploration sites

i have been noticing a severe drop in exploration sites recently (since last patch) noteably in the derelik/devoid regions.
has there been a change to the quantity of sites? If CCP's intentions are to interest pilots in this as a form of activity/income a notable increase in the amount of sites would be in order as mainly there are nothing but wormholes to scan as of late (during my timezone anyhow) thoughts/comments?

It's possible that there is so much farming that you can't find anything when you log on. If you think it's bad now, wait till the SOE ships come out.

I have not notice any drop. At least not in Minmatar FW lowsec.

I find it more easy to find sites in active regions.

Minmatar Devoid looks fine to me.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

Anecdotal observation? Check

Unlikely.

As you're talking about income, you would presumably want a drop rate increase as well. Unfortunately, this would hurt more than help, as it would simply drive loot prices down. So you can either have more sites with the same drop rates or the same number of sites and just keep on trucking on.

Timezone is irrelevant. Sites spawn all day. As for wormholes, well at least they have their own sig type now.

The probably just clumping up in one system nobody used in days. Happens in null all the time where you find a system with 10 signatures in it, most of which will be trash sites anyway.

Genesis/Aridia has been fine. Methinks this is just another case of confirmation bias.

Dry streaks happen, for better or for worse. If they bother you, try another activity in game.

Gonna toss in my 2 ISK worth of opinion here.

I've noticed a definite lack of exploration sites in Minmatar high sec space.

Wait, let me rephrase that.

I've noticed a definite lack of exploration sites that I think are worth doing in Minmatar high sec space.

Lately all I've seen has been mostly Hacking sites, W-holes, Rogue Drone sites with the occasional Angel DED 1/10 site. Oh and a few unfinished Hideout sites as well. Seems new explorers don't realize the Drug Lab needs to be destroyed to despawn the site and that by attacking the lab will generate the trigger group to spawn the Commander and or escalation.

Obviously there's a multitude of players now doing exploration and most are only looking for sites that give good rewards. The reason why Rogue Drone and Angel DED 1/10 sites are being left alone is there's no loot reward.

As for the Hacking sites being left, I believe the novelty of those new sites has now worn off and due to the amount of time wasted doing the click fest with loot spew resulting in lousy loot reward, players are now bypassing those sites and are mainly looking for the more lucrative sites.

In my opinion this seems to be the most likely reason for the lack of profitable exploration combat sites.

DMC if you can't find anything, I'd try looking on the horaka and hroduko islands.

Just leave a ship there, and then you can clone jump or cloak warp over to it. Bonus points or rather (sigs) for checking kattagaud.

Bearing in mind I have considerable risk aversion, I found it no trouble to set up on all the gallente highsec islands, some of the aridia islands and the caldari island, and never lost a ship dropping the combat ship off or commuting to them in a cloak warper. (It was only the desire to do the surrounding lowsec content that ever lost me ships).

Always a much higher concentration of sigs per system, because that's how the exploration system works.

Tauranon,

Yeah, I'm familiar with Island pockets and have visited quite a few of them multiple times. The main reason I didn't mention them in my reply is because I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag, if you know what I mean.

Oh well, guess the cat's out of the bag now.

Blink

Anyway, my statement still stands - I've noticed a definite lack of exploration Combat sites in high sec space due to an over abundance of players doing exploration.

Of course I don't expect CCP to increase the amount of sites spawning in high sec. I think what they're actually trying to do is encourage players to do low sec exploration. Especially with the addition of the new SoE ships, specifically the Cruiser. According to the Rubicon video, it should be able to complete DED 6/10 sites.

T3's are relatively cheap, and you have a lot of station systems in low-sec for switching sub-systems. Generally i don't think low-sec exploration is all that dangerous, and T2 cruiser and the Glia are already good low-sec exploration ships.

I don't think adding another cruiser is going to change anything, more choices and it might make low-sec exploration a little easier, but a new ship is not going to make people less scared of low-sec.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

Exploration is becoming increasingly popular. That in turn means that in some regions the more popular areas are farmed out relatively quickly while the sites stack up in systems that are off the beaten path.
