So.. let me get this straight..

These guys are asking for peeps to buy "mining permits" or they don't "make violence on your boat" and peeps pay, but get blown up anyway.

So it's basically the same as ransoming a ship then not honouring the ransom.. i don't see a problem with this.

To be fair it's more like someone paying the fee and then saying "I'm not going to take that ID card that says I paid!"

Then someone else saying "can I see yourID card and if you've paid" and the guy shouting "I DON'T HAVE ONE"

perfectly legit.

So is the killmail.

If they had bothered to talk to me rather than just showing up and bumping/target locking us and then attempting to gank us, things would have turned out differently. I am all for taking out the macro and afk miners, however I do not take kindly to being bullied into doing anything.

Oh well, POS taken down, everyone docked. Starting a long break, since we can no longer mine in peace.

So in a competitive game, instead of finding a way to win against your opponents, you are ceding the game to them. Sounds like mission success. Other miners, hopefully code compliant ones, will make slightly more isk.

Sure 10 million isk is not all that much to pay – yet you must display your New Order ID number in your bio (Badge of Shame) for them to leave you alone.

No matter how eloquent their verbiage and solidly based on what they can get away with, following current game mechanics, it is still bullying and intimidation of the populous of the EVE community.

Seeing how on line bullying is a major subject of disdain within the entire Internet Community, maybe CCP needs to take a look at this.

I am sure that I am not their first “Customer – forced to wear their badge of SHAME in my bio to prevent then from further intimidation.” and strengthen their community influence.

You don't understand what's going on. You don't quite grasp what you are.

You are a pod pilot. You do not ask for permission, you -take- what you can get. Minerbumping does -precisely- that. They take what they can get.

You are under no obligation to give them what they want.

You are a pod pilot. You get to shoot back!

Don't go off on a wild rant about internet bullying and intimidation. You're supposed to make your own destiny. You're supposed to fight back.

Adapt, overcome.

I have removed a rule breaking post and the one quoting it.

The rules:
33. Posting of chat logs outside the Crime & Punishment forum channel is prohibited.

The posting of chat logs between player parties is prohibited on all forum channels of the EVE Online forums, with the exception of the Crime & Punishment Channel where they can be posted as part of stories in the Pirate Story Thread.
Specific rules regarding the omission of pilot names apply in this instance. Further details can be found in the rules stickies in the Crime & Punishment forum channel.

You know, there are literally THOUSANDS of systems in EVE - and while I am sure those chaps in the New Order are very enthusiastic, they can't be in all of them 24/7. Have you considered moving away?

Now, admittedly, moving to another system might just introduce you to another batch of folks who want you to pay protection to not get bumped, to avoid being ganked, to not have them tell 'your mom' jokes, or whatever.

So you are really left with the choices of becoming a rather mobile miner, paying protection, or not paying and handling the attempts at bumping/ganking/your mom jokes. All are valid choices.

Large parts of low sec are empty, you can mine there, but fit for tank and use safespots. Also use dscan and scout first, its not as easy as high sec mining but it pays more.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

Just report them for MASS harassment if you have proof or report them for normal harassment/continuous harassment/group harassment/ISK scamming/etc, honestly with as many rules as they have broken I am sure they could be sued at this point...not to mention what laws they have broken, internet harassment is still illegal and still is online bullying[pretty sure they are the same and I'm pretty sure that would make both of them federal crimes. You really think other carebears haven't petitioned them before? For hate's sake, I just started ninja salvaging again recently on an alt, and I have been petitioned twice in a week, nevermind been called numerous things that violate the terms of service(why do SO many people call me a Jew? Seriously, how is that an insult?).

[Edit: I do not believe that Jew violates the ToS, it merely frequently accompanied other words that do in my last week worth of being yelled at for "stealing"

Looks like we have another Space Lawyer on our hands. Guess this about wraps it up for the New Order. How dare they blow up ships in a video game about blowing up ships. Crazy. Can't believe the federalies have let it go one so long. Oh.. which federation by the way? Is that the one from Star Trek, or a different one? I'm just trying to work out the jurisdictional issues so I know which space lawyer to retain in my defense.

Whose rules? what laws? It's CCPs game, they set out the rules and lay down the law.

It's not harassment until CCP say it is, and it's definitely not bullying. It is however extortion, and extortion is allowed in Eve, as are theft, ponzi schemes, mass murder and many other odious activities. It's a fictional dystopian universe, partially populated by immortals with zero scruples and really really big guns.

Federal crimes? CCP is an Icelandic company, and the servers are based in the UK. Neither country falls under the jurisdiction of any federal authority, unless of course they've been quietly annexed by said federal authority recently.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

How about pay it and put something fun and creative in your bio... Do you support botting? No, probably not.. unless you bot. The point of the bio is so scouts can quickly determine which cause you support. And, as you would expect, if you don't support what NO/friends support, then you are left with the other option.. support botting/theme-park mmo.

They already did, in fact there's a whole sticky thread dedicated to it.

As the largest shareholder of the New Order and ardent supporter of our saviour James 315, you might expect that I would be annoyed at such a ridiculous thread.

But we in the New Order have seen this all before. We are nothing if not kind, compassionate, and willing to spend as much time as it takes to help a savage reform his ways. Reading Eve Online's Best Mining Education Website is very important to do on a regular basis. The more you read, the more you know.

We have faith that you can be led down the correct path to enlightenment. We will gladly and generously spend our valuable time to help you see the light. When necessary, we will gank your illegal mining ships as often as we need to in order to show you the errors of your ways.

You will come to find out that a mining permit of only 10 million isk, a simple show of support for our saviour James 315 in your bio, and a life of playing Eve the correct way is really the best course of action.

Warm regards,

-Ero

I agree on principle that what the NO stands for is good.

Botting = TerriBad
AFK = Bad (it happens to all of us)

However the execution of their manifesto leaves a lot to be desired. Generally surrounding their methods of sorting out who is afk and who isn't. Or for that matter what constitutes botting in their minds - do they have access to data from the server in terms of how a pilot (miner) acts in terms of keystrokes/mouseclicks? I am not condoning AFKers and Botters and what they do. I am just plainly curious as to the nature of the NO's intel.

Personally I think it is non-existent and they are simply asshats looking for a laugh and tear.

You could argue that Jimbob and his band of degenerate misfits as a whole are pulling a scam by claiming to own or rule over certain areas of space and also by misrepresenting a majority of hi-sec dwellers (but not the playerbase as a whole).

Most of what I write in terms of posts and/or comments is meant as "tongue-in-cheek", i.e. part irony, part sarcasm but meant in good fun.

On a more serious note. I want to marry CCP karkur. Is there a EVE dating service I can call?
