So having left crusty echo chamber of the "CCP T20 Scandal Redux and Super Secret Don't Tell Anyone I Put My Ships In Your Corp Or You'll Get In Trouble" Marathon something occurred to me. Odds are CCP is going to do this again in another six months. Its literally like the little child that keeps severely cutting his or herself because they run with scissors. You'd think the pain from the first impalement/laceration would be enough of a lesson. You'd think a stern talking to and close supervision would remind the child not to do it a third time. Then around the 10th time and just as many blood transfusions you think "perhaps its downs syndrome" and despite best testing it isn't.

So you are left with two options. Do the reasonable thing and admonish the child stressing the importance of responsibility and safety. Then there is option two, the "unreasonable," which is to go around the house and remove all the scissors. Its when the hospital cafeteria punches your card for the 11th time getting you complimentary meal there that you realize getting rid of all the scissors isn't such a bad idea. Except in this case CCP is our suspect down's child and the scissors are Somer Blink.

Yes Somer Blink the horrible blend of crack and meth to you EVE players. But its also crack to CCP because it allows them the lazy way out of distributing ships. Its also the lighting rod for the recent outrage of the secretive EVE mails and blatant favoritism displayed by your favorite band of hapless Vikings. So we can't expect CCP to stop running with scissors but we can take the scissors out of the house.

Somer Blink needs to go.

Somer Blink didn't break this story or say "no this is wrong." Somer Blink simply rolled along taking the ill gotten gains of favoritism and didn't blink twice. You see we can't punish CCP because there really is no way to enforce anything the CSM tells them. There is no way to distill common sense into an over the counter medication that CCP is court ordered to take. Even then they'd eventually say "hey I'm cured" and go off their meds and into the deep end. Chribba might end up with a mining Titan in hi sec! But what we can do is punish the player organization invovled. We simply stop using them and let disuse wither away the existence of Somer Blink. Sure its unreasonable because so many people love using Somer Blink and real the villain here is CCP but what are you going to do? The kid still wants to run with scissors.

So stop using Somer Blink or CCP will stab themselves again.

Hence why its so ridiculous that you have to remove the scissors in the house. It points out how bad things really are and how far we haven't come from T20.

Or, you could just quit EVE and it would be a win-win situation for you and us.

The person you're quoting has run a CCP sponsored event that involved having them move a supercap and dock it in an incursion system.

It's not politics, it's a realistic understanding of what CCP does for community events, and how often they do it for how many different groups.

But your overmind hasn't told you to be upset about all those other groups, so you're shiptoasting about blink this week.

Seriously, I am a paying customer, I don't give a **** about goonswarm or whatever when it comes to this matter, and I genuinely hope "my overmind" is wrong. But these things have a funny way of turning out to be true with CCP, don't they?
