Reasons why carriers shouldn't be able to use lowsec and nullsec stargates?

I understand not wanting carriers in hisec, but what are some good reasons for not allowing carriers to use any gate to a system where cynos are allowed?

After all, carriers are smaller than freighters, and ship size is the in-universe rationale for limitations on stargate travel.

Even if you could.. why would you even want to?

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

For me, mainly because the POS I use is in a system without an outpost, and there are two adjacent systems with friendly outposts.

I'm sure other people would have good uses for such a feature as well.

Yes, all jump drives should be removed from game and caps/super caps should be allowed null sec gate access.

Then maybe Eve would actually feel like a universe instead of a small sandbox in somebody's back yard.

Just move the pos, problem solved.

Just spitballin here

How about the carrier uses the gate system just as an option, and sees the gates connecting to their current system all as viable destinations to jump to?

They would never need to use the exit gate from their current system, but they would arrive like everyone else at the gate in the new system.

Due to the shorter relative range, it would use less fuel, but since they were jumping independently, it would still use fuel.

They can't use gates because there is no code that separates gates from high sec to low sec to null sec.
Basically they are all functionally the same gate.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Carriers either alone or in groups have the tank to de aggress and jump through escaping pretty much anything. Encouraging any caps to fight on gates is going to be bad.

Capitals were setup to be group tools, not personal ships - requiring at least 1 other to move them around. Alts are Us theme these days still has more than 1 character required to move them between systems.

Jumping to a cyno brings your capital ship into a system weakened - capacitor is lowered quite a bit. Using a gate brings your ship into a system at the same strength it had when it left the last location.

In other words, it takes more than 1 character to move them and each time they move they are weakened a bit so jumping them into fights has more risk for the capitol pilot.

Removal of this restriction removes the weakening of the ship on each move and eliminates the team-work (mostly bunk with alts) aspects of their use.
