What missions to run, with only a small startup

I've come back to eve after a break of just under a year, however I logged back in at a hostile 0.0 station with assets stuck out there etc.

So now I'm back in empire, I need to start making some money, however I only have about 40mil in the bank and no decent ship yet. I heard you can run some L3 and 4 missions in AF's and similar, is that true? I primarily fly most Gallente & Minmatar, including T2. What is most most effective money making strategy with that starting pot? I can access L4's, but obviously not sure what ship I could use to start making the most.

I want to make isk so I can start to PvP again!

I run lvl 3 missions in an AF (AC Wolf). But i wouldn't run lvl 4 missions with it. It's not that i couldn't survive, but i simply can't break the tank of the battleships.
For lvl 4 you need a battleship or a T2 cruiser, which are too expensive for your actual budget.
You could also try trade or exploration to win a big enough starting capital.

Edit : salvaging and looting your lvl 3 missions will bring you much more money than the isk rewards.

If you can afford a battle cruiser, it would probably be faster overall to blitz L3s to build your wallet. Once you get into the 200mil or so range, you can buy a cheap BS to run L4s. If you have good hacking skills, losec/nosec site exploration in a covops is also good for building your wallet.

The only BC you can fly and afford is the Cyclone, and I don't know if you have missile skills at all.

I would say stabber or vexor for level III's. I just did them over again in a drake for Ministry of war. It was boring as hell, and I thought I should have made a myrmidon instead. So I would lean towards the vexor if you can tank them all. The only L3 I remember requiring a huge tank was the blockade.

As mentioned, if you can salvage them, salvage them. The money is much better than (just) running them.

I would probably just do that til i had enough money to get into a typhoon to run level 4's.

internet spaceships

are serious business sir.

and don't forget it

Spend the isk on a good salvage destroyer and pimp yourself out for a while.

If you got old friends running L4's could be easy to find work.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I will get a vexor and destroyer for now and try a bit of both. :)

Fully fitted AFs and battlecruisers might be just out of range of your current budget, but even if you have to buy a vexor first for level 2's, it shouldn't take you long to get the money for a good level 3 ship. I'd sit there for a long time, as lvl 4's are worse until you get an appropriate lvl 4 ship.

You can also take your vexor and do exploration stuff in hisec.

A good drop from a 3 or 4/10 would set you up for a while (4/10 are 200-600mil for a very good drop) and you could happily do them in a Cruiser with a bit of speed tank.

hunting for clone soldier tags in lowsec can be done in a cheap destroyer. the income is not stellar but it will get you enough isk for a lvl4 battleship soon enough.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Also in every major trade hub there are folks advertising in local hat for every ISK you send them, they send double amount back.
