I find it offensive that people want a way to take my POS away from me with less effort from and risk to themselves than wardeccing my corporation and blowing the tower up.

If you want to remove the tower, wardec the corp and blow it up. Don't whine about how long it will take you to blow the thing up: fit a 1000 DPS Oracle or a T2 sentry Dominix or some other high DPS ship and spend the time grinding that structure as has been done since POSes were introduced.

If you want to steal the tower itself, that process should take a similar amount of effort and provide similar opportunities for the owner to defend their asset.

Do half the people before posting even read the Op? Hes not asking for all towers to me made hackable, only those which have been OFFLINE , ya know inactive, for I would agree on 2+ months. And then you should get a 24h/r timer along with the timer showing on system like a reinforced POCO. That way people can see the tower will be available for a free for all at that time and you can get more pew. Otherwise an offline tower gets no pew unless your bashing it cause you 'needz ze moo gooz'

Yes, that's what I'm asking for.
Too bad people just can't be bothered to read.

But the tower is offline ... it's been abandoned ... that means you don't want it.

We aren't going to be offending anyone by hacking an offline tower, because no one cares about it.

the problem is that for 2-2.5 pages people were taking it as "let people hack towers" without necessarily involving the "It has to be offline for x time" bit.

Now, with that said, my whole stance is "If this is a good idea in the first place". I'm not totally opposed, but I'm not sure about this being a good idea in the first place since it's supposed to be "hard" to get rid of a POS. But then again, a can that's been untouched for 30d simply gets deleted ... so ...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

But I said it in the damn title...

The future of humanity makes me weep.
