I think the overall problem here is not that you can kill a capsuleer. It's proven that anyone not careful enough can get biomassed. The real problem is that pirate organizations have access to clone soldiers.

Can you imagine the havoc they can cause? The modifications that can be made to the armor and weapon sets? If the pirate-patterned ships I've flown next to, and against, are any indication, this could be a major problem for the more...Law-abiding DUST soldiers on the ground, and potentially everyone. I shudder to think of what a small army of DUST soldiers in pirate-modified suits could do to a planet. Or, hell, even unleashed onto a capitol or supercaptial...or any ship, actually. Just a massacre without equal force.

Can you imagine what a small corporation of Capsuleers can do to a planet? I recently made some threats towards Mantenault VI, a planet in the arse-end of space (otherwise known as Placid) and the truth is that ten capsuleers could probably arrange to drop some pretty heavy rocks on cities with little intervention.

OBVIOUSLY Pyre Falcon would never stoop so low, but the fact remains that Dusties need to take transports to their fights and they are completely vulnerable to the whim of any capsuleer with an orbital beacon whilst there.

Don't worry about THEM, Mikakka-haan, worry about the worst of US.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

I agree with you on that.

And to think of the devastation of an orbital bombardment comes from just our small guns. I can't imagine the consequences of dropping battleship ordnance on a planet. Drop a few battleships in high orbit around a colony and you hold the entire planet hostage. Its quite something to think about isn't it?
