So the purpose of this post is simply to provide a bit of entertainment and my personal experience with hiring some fantastic mercenaries to do some...work for me.

I've always wanted to have someone assassinated in this game. It always seemed like an intriguing part of the "sandbox" we all play in. And recently, opportunity presented itself. An avid poster, primarily in the Missions and Complexes subforum, DeMichael Crimson, is a quality poster. Helpful, informative, and generally pretty nice. But recently the good old chap starting calling me a troll and telling people to ignore me. Thats not very nice now is it? Simply because I disagree with him and I'm a bit forward with my comments.

Well now, I just couldn't have that now could I? I decided to have some fun. I started looking for mercenaries and went to the merc channel in-game and after voicing my presence, was contacted by a very professional man, Roman. I tell him about my saga and that I wanted to investigate potentially.... assassinating DMC. We came to terms on costs and he had me send a mail to him so that he could push it to his comrades.

To: Roman,

1. Investigate DeMichael Crimson. If he is active, report back for clearance to eliminate. Investigation fee is XXX mil upfront.

2. My money is on the table as long as this takes. I will pay a fair price for this.

3. Further incentive - I am offering XXX billion for an API verified killmail of the destruction of targets pod and retrieval of his corpse.

Now I wasn't too sure about this. It was a good chance DMC was just a posting alt, thus the investigation. Never been in a corp and no kills or losses, for a relatively old character. However, security status of 5.8 or something. Interesting.

Fast forward a bit and I log in to an email informing me to contact Roman. He informs me of the effort he and his team went through and that it was quite a bit of work...at this point I was nervous that the job was not doable.

And then he tells me. "We got him."

The killmail is delightful. The pod tops the cake. And the corpse now adorns my hangar.

Roman went on to inform me that DMC was quite upset. There was apparently quite a bit of verbal rage and threats produced. In fact, he even made a post in Noir's thread inquiring about possible jobs they do. He was pretty mad. Oh joy :)

A special thanks to Roman and his crew. A job well done for sure and very professional through the entire process.

And that is where we stand today. Feel free to troll away at this thread. A "cool story bro" is always welcome. But really, I just wanted to share how amazing this game can still be. I actually feel rather addicted now and am looking for the next person I can have targeted for....the hell of it :).

Link to killboard with API verified killmail (seach for Demichael Crimson, direct links to mail to not work).

Updated with link to EveKB killboard with API verified killmail. Direct links aren't working, but searching for "Demichael Crimson" works. Blink

cool story bro. Makes me think of some names I would enjoy seeing in my hangar.

Also, about the fake KM, can a corpse be faked too?

For added viewer pleasure, next time, please ask your mercs to get a transcript of the tears harvested from this individual and have them posted in the thread :)
