I have read alot of forum posts in the last hour and didnt see anything mentioned about manufacturing the new T3s... on Sisi ( last time i checked ) they were produced using only base minerals. Shouldnt be manufactured out of sleepers loot like the T3 cruisers ? i.e. all T2 ships need T2 products, i havent seen one to be built out of base minerals only.

Tier-3, not Tech-3. They will be Tech-1 ships produced with minerals only, receiving most of their value back from insurance.

That is all.

I liked every post in this thread correcting the Tier 3/Tech 3 EPICFAIL. Because y'know, after this long you'd think everyone would know about it by now.

ok i am confused. What are the tier 2 ships then ?

according to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_Online :

All ships in the game are also classed according to Tech level, from Tech I to Tech III. Tech I (or T1) ships are general purpose, easily manufactured models that perform simple, straightforward functions in an obvious way. Tech II (T2) ships are based on T1 designs that have been modified to perform specific roles using specialized technology. T2 ships are harder to manufacture and are only produced by certain corporations, and are priced well above the T1 variants.

The Apocrypha patch introduced into Eve Online a new type of ship: the Tech III (T3) strategic cruiser.

The cyclone is a tier 1 battlecruiser. You'll need the skill Battlecruiser at least at level 1.
The hurricane is a tier 2 battlecruiser. You'll need the skill Battlecruiser at least at level 2.

See ?

Altough i believe the tornado needs battlecruiser at V, it's the third tier.

Cyclone, then hurricane, then Tornado.

If you see it as "generations" it makes more sense, i guess.

I wanna be the first to say, tier 3 =/= tech 3.

Hooray for people with no reading comprehension misunderstanding something, then trying to intelligently discuss something they haven't bothered to even think about for 2 seconds!

Right, so an omen is a tech 1 cruiser, a zealot is a tech 2 cruiser, and a legion is a tech 3 cruiser.

Follow me so far?

An Armageddon is a tier 1 battleship, an Apocalypse is a tier 2 battleship, and an Abaddon is a tier 3 Battleship.

The common difference in print has been Tiers are addressed with a lower case 't', and Techs are addressed with an upper case 'T'.

The new battlecruisers are not Tech 3, they are Tier 3, so tech one ships, but 3rd tier tech one ships, meaning they'll require just minerals, standard minerals to construct. Looking at the BPO's on SiSi currently I'd expect them to sell for around 50-60 million each. Cheaper than the cheapest Battleship, slightly above the tier 2 (Myrmadon, Drake, Harbinger, Hurricane) Battlecruisers.

Got all that?

OP, I see that you have said a fail in your post.

Since many people have said it before, but it still has not sunken in, Ill tell you.

Its Tier 3, *not* Tech 3.

And one more time, in case it has leaked out of your brain in the seconds after reading it:

Its Tier 3, *not* Tech 3.

Tier 3: "Better" version than their Tier 1 and 2 counterparts. Usually have more weapon slots than the version below. Can be created by regular minerals

Tech 3: Modular ships based on subsystems that can be adapted to fit diffrent situations... They can have diffrent loadouts depending on which subsystems are fitted. As with just about any ship they come in a FOTM fassion just about everyone flies them with specific fits. There may be a number of diffrent ones, but each of them is usually very similar every time you face them.

Personally I really would like to get rid of killmails that display the mods. I dont want to share my F.U.B.A.R. fits with the rest of EvE :p
