I would say that using multiple accounts to stave off boredom whilst mining is a good indicator that it isn't very interesting.

Here is a wonderful solution: with mining laser break asteroid to hundreds small scattering pieces that you have to catch with mouse clicks. Sounds fun. Twisted

I would prefer to see a mining system that looks lire the one in Firefall : You set up a deployable and you have to defend it while rats try to kill it. In the meantime it mines for you.

Actually fun to combine mining and PvE.

Mining in space games has always been boring.

If a company actually developed a system which was fun, didn't get old after the first two sessions and was actually rewarding, it would still suck, because such a company would also be able to create a mermerizing combat system for the same game, and mining would be boring in comparison.

The best mining system I remember was from an old title, Colony Wars: Vengeance.

You basically used a "beam lance" to turn asteroids into crystals, which then you proceeded to capture with a hook/cable, and then you towed the ****ing thing to the proper hangar manually.

Good times.

Not having played them, I can't have an opinion either way.

I've enjoyed previous X-series and Chris Roberts games, but I have yet to see anything from X:R that makes it seem a step up. It looks more and more like Doom 3 to Doom 2 — more visuals; less game.

I thought the point of EVE was player created dynamics. Seems to be working just fine as intended actually.

It would probably make mining a lot faster if you think about it.
