Hello this morning I tried to jump into a system that was 1. and had to wait hince too many players ( New Caldari ) When I open the star map I see a lot of sectors -.1 or worst and I bet many of these systems are never used. I wanted to ask around here to see but I think their would be less conjestion and more pvp for those whom do the pvp side of eve if more of those sectors were changed into high sec med sec rather then have systems that no one even bothers to use. I figured I would ask too what the majority of you thought on this matter.

The high traffic systems are usually high traffic for a reason. Be that a missioning hub or a trade hub etc. so if you switch some more systems to be hisec, you will still have the same problem that those specific systems that were congested are still hisec systems that are congested.

But I don't fully understand your statement? Do you want to change lowsec systems or nullsec systems to hisec systems? Or...?

There is like 500 corps in nullsec you can apply to, some of which (renter corps), typically don't make you do much other than pay tax on bounties.

OP, I encourage you to be brave and try livin' la vida lowsec. I believe in you.

Can we make Jita a 0.4 as well please? I wanna see more action on the undock, like the old days =(

If anything they need to turn about half of highsec into low. Or at least half of amarr space.

Good snicker here. I see what you're talking about. Highsec has a huge amount of players while other space has far less population but there's some things you need to understand.

EVE has around 7500 systems in it (some set aside for dev use)
- about 1/3rd of that is wormhole space (roughly 2500 systems).
- "empire" space is split into 2 classifications: Lowsec & Highsec - combined to roughly 2100 systems.
--- Lowsec has about 900 systems.
--- Highsec has about 1200 systems.
- the rest is nullsec (again, around 2500 systems)

Net effect is roughly 1/3rd of the game is set aside for each area.

Across all of this are sub-levels to each type of space beyond just "lowsec & highsec" - wormholes have a variety of classes to them that get tougher the larger the class goes, "nullsec" is actually 2 different types of space: NPC nullsec vs SOV nullsec.. so on and so forth.

Highsec empire is where all new players start and the game was built so folks could and would move "deeper in" with a little safety as they move but many hit a comfort spot and stop there. Many don't leave highsec except to visit more dangerous areas - it's "safer" (not safe, just safer). Around HALF the game's population is in highsec because they don't feel they can operate outside this space - for a variety of reasons.

Lowsec is a transition point between the security of highsec and the empty lands of nullsec. There are few NPC stations in null but a lot in lowsec and these are where players can stop to fix, reship, refit, get supplies, etc. without having to be part of this or that group - which is how the bulk of SOV nullsec works.

You can easily operate in lowsec with horrific security status but that isn't so easily done in highsec. When nullsec SOV empires crumble, this is the space they run for to regroup/reform and see what they can do next. MANY who don't live in highsec cannot go there without having their ships blown up by "the cops" and such.

And you suggest that these systems be converted to deathly killzones to players who may not use them often but when the need arises, they do NEED access to them? ... These are the 'risk takers" and some resupply spots are needed for what they do outside of "safe" highsec.

Not a good idea. Lowsec is already a fairly small chunk of the game world but it does have a lot of activity that isn't so noticeable by those who don't operate there.

why would OP be brave to do that. OP stated that those systems are empty and so no harm could come to the OP in those empty systems. What is brave about complete safety?

I think I see what you're suggesting here. New Eden has no end of systems of every level, and there are multiple metrics as to why one system has a lot of players at any given moment while others are perma-empty. Changing the number of systems of one kind or another wouldn't alter those metrics.
