Maybe you could spend some time on Drone regions with the expansion

I lived in drone regions when the drone alloys dropped. I understand the negative impact on the hi sec min market. What I don't understand is how you think its ok to slap some bounties on the drones and leave it at that.

I'm not a a huge ratter, but I do some of it. I've ratted in several null regions and there is no discernible benefit to ratting drones over any other rat type. In fact, drones don't drop loot which leaves them sub -par compared to other rats.

Just a thought, maybe instead of simply nerfing the drone regions like you did you could take a look and maybe iterate the area bit. I'm not asking for the return of the alloys but maybe you could balance things up a bit.

The drone regions are literally Detroit.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

I seriously do not understand. I don't think everything has to be exactly the same in each region. In fact, drone alloys were 'the thing' about those regions. Simply taking the alloys away and not compensating for it is a weak design move.


Is there any chance CCP will consider an iteration of the drone regions in their up coming expansion? Its the most common joke in Eve now.

I support this request.

And while you are looking at drones, please look at drone exploration sites - independence/radiance/hierarchy. Currently they are a waste of time. If you get lucky, you might get expedition and in the end get some salvage loot for ~30-40 mil. That is way less that you can get in any other exploration. There is no module drops or Overseer Effects.

So please look at the content you already have in game, and update it.

TY ISD for keeping a relevant discussion on track and moving forward. Perhaps someone else in a development capacity will remark on this subject, at least in some small way. I'm not asking CCP to move mountains simply to suit my current play-experience. A simple reflection from CCP would be greatly appreciated.

Sort out a few exploration sites which are worthwhile to run, even if you have to just use other faction ones and repopulate them with Drones it would be something, it was lazy at the time not to rebalance what pitiful sites Drones had when CCP removed Drone Alloys but at least the t2 salvage was just about ok, now the prices of that has crashed thanks to the exploration changes.

Give them some faction and deadspace drops, it really shouldn't be too hard to come up with something which would make a few mods useful.

It really wouldn't take a lot of effort to do so it would fit in perfectly with what they call a expansion nowadays.

Drones already have some officer mods added, and CCP's comments when they added them show that they are aware of the problem, however they are choosing to not simply slap a rapid 'solution' down that then causes other problems.
Intergrating an entire new class of mods into the game isn't exactly easy.
Though basic meta 1-4 loot would go a long way and I'm surprised they haven't done that yet.

Its ok to slap bounties, just make them more than the crap they are now. Ratting in truesec should be better than L4s by a greater factor than it is now, and shouldn't be so much worse than, say, angel space, especially with that obnoxious omni-damage

Adding basic meta loot wouldn't go a long way at all, that would be pretty much the same as doing nothing.

Also adding Drone faction versions of mods would be pisseasy, all they got to do is to rename a few existing mods something they could do on a friday afternoon, least some action would make it look like they see a problem and looking to do more to rectify it, then put a bit of effort into adding some proper content to those regions, they were added in a pre nerfed stage and have never been looked at since.

Yeah, there maybe 20 of the drone officer items in game...now after 2 years. The abundence of good stuff in drone regions was always stunning me, and made me wish to go and hunt in the pink sunshine drone fields. ...only Gallentes should go there. EVE realities make it a bit compicated. On one hand, there's no reason for a region to suck just because. On the other hand, space that is relatively sucky but still suitable for living makes a good place for underdog(s) to occupy without facing full pressure of more powerful entities that normally aim for the best space.

Drones need meaningful FACTION items, Officer mods have ended up exactly how I said... pointless.

When people have Drone anomalies or complexes spawn and just ignore them and move on there is a problem, the simple fix to this is Faction and Deadspace items. Make faction spawns worth looking for and make complexes worth running.

Now we have officer items in the game for drones so we can just make some Deadspace versions (like all the others are) and adding some faction drone items to bridge the gap between T2 and OMGWTF 8billion ISK officer mods.

Now in my imagination Detroit is a desolate depressing city full of gangs and a few dwindling factories, but also home to creepy rogue AIs that just attach to cars.
