Be grateful your fittings work, mine doesn't work at all.

FAIL
there was no 620x480. there was 640x480. Cool

What do you guys think about the size of the fitting window?

I'm finding it is a waste of damn space. I can't properly fit the other windows I want open with it at the same time. I find myself constantly shifting positions of windows in order to do various things in relation to ship fitting.

have never seen such problem. could you give real example of what are you doing with fitting window?

Thanks for support, made some graphics in the OP to show how much smaller it can be made!

As important is the inventory window and to a lesser extent the browser (fits, mission info, etc).

In terms of inventory and fitting, one window cuts off the other no matter where they are moved. I can resize the inventory window so it's not the case, but then it becomes quite hard to use and/or I end up with missing information.

ESC --> General Settings, check the option to integrate the inventory and ship hangar windows into the station services window. Saves a ton of room and should help alleviate your issue.

General UI principle: If there is space in the window that is not a control you can use to provide input, or providing you with information, it is a waste of space.

It cannot be re sized or made opaque. You can close the info panel on the right however that is more important to me than the other panel TBH, and it still suffers from a height issue independent of this.

Am I missing something? If not, who else agrees that the window size needs to be reduced/reducible?

"Use X 3rd party software" - Thanks, not looking for a work-around though, discussing the in-game feature itself.

So we get the same information just in a smaller area, + shows the drones =)

Right now the fitting window takes up more than half the screen in horizontal and vertical directions.
That is too big, even at 1920x1080, but especially at the lower resolutions.

I play EVE in5670 x 1080 so it doesnt bother me at all

True for every single window in the game so get over it.

EVE's UI sucks and has always sucked so stop pointing out that it sucks.

Agree with OP. It really needs to be scaled down by around 25%

Bumping this up again.

This proposed idea, while small, makes too much sense to ignore.

I'd add: Add a menu that drops down (or to the side) showing the ship with the background and all that. As Im sure CCP dont want to give up on that.

CCP ought to just overlay the fitting window over your actual ship, removing the need for a window. I mean like 3D menus similar to the ones in captains quarters. I dunno. Just an idea.

I agree that a smaller window, or the ability to shrink it a bit would be nice. But its not exactly a priority.

I would like to see a complete redesign of the fitting window, like a holographic projectory that forms around your ship instead of a separate window.

How about simply having a classic option?

Disagree. While it can be a task to fit the windows in the same screen, it's still a fairly simple system with a nice looking window. That said, trimming it down a little won't exactly hurt that effect Smile

"Too big" and "i'd design it smaller" are two separate questions.

It works ok.. it does take up a lot of space when i move it from my wide monitor to my 1600x 1200 monitor.

I'd rather they work on other things.

If there were starting fresh.. yeah, i think people could give them a few suggestions as they would give themselves some suggestions about it too.
