WIth the announcement of the new mobile Cyno Jammers, do people think this will be help kill more supers or less?

I know it is difficult to speculate without information such as how long they take to deploy, how many hit points will they have, once online will it stay online until either destroyed or offlined, how big as in regards to m3, how many can be deployed in a system etc however it has never stopped Eve players before :)

I have to admit I am a little worried that it could be more of a aid for supers + titans avoiding being killed which is a very bad thing.

They are a two edged sword. They can prevent capital intervention, they can also be used to prevent capital intervention AFTER your caps are on field.

If you're especially evil and know where the exit cyno will be, they could potentially also be used to prevent the escape of capitals.

I like the idea a lot, for lowsec at least this opens a wealth of new tactical options.

I wouldn't go that far, it was already said that it would only have a radius of 70 - 100km so a fleet can still warp, just no longer on right on top.

I expect this will yield more kills. Or more conflict at least.
It doesnt actually prevent anyone from hot dropping you, they will jus kill you from the distance of 70-100km, while subcaps keep you tackled. But i think this will allow for more frequent and flexible use of capitals, which will result in more fights, and more deaths.

EDIT: i vaguely remember someone telling me this new cyno jammer does not blocks Covert Cyno? Or Does it?

What happens if you drop the jammer in range of a cynosural beacon (POS module)? Currently an active POS cynojammer offlines all beacons in the system. Will we be able to use the deployable jammers to disrupt an alliance's cynobeacon network?

I don't actually know if it will kill running cynos, or only prevent the creation of new ones come to think of it.

The POS cynojammer doesn't kill existing cynos fired from a ship (and you can still jump to these cynos as long as they are active, even if the jammer is up). But it will offline POS cynobeacons.

Hmmm that's rather inconsistent behaviour, they should look into that.

This sounds like a toy for gate campers and carrier ratters. Espacially for carrier ratting this sounds usefull. Every carrier will probs have 1 in their cargo now and instantly drop them as soon a neutral comes in local or they are about to get tackled. Lets face it alot of carrier kills are done with hotdrops and if a cyno jammer is up the carrier will have a easy time murdering the single ship that tackled him.
