You know CCP, when you have Chribba, pirates, hisec bears, Goons, former BoB members, PL members, newbies, veterans, bittervets, collectors, and basically everyone in this game that isn't a complete troll or Blink fanboy telling you that you're doing something completely wrong to the point where you're repeating the same mistakes that caused the media storm that led to your creation of the very player council you failed to consult on this issue, you are seriously screwing up.

I really hate it when I have to agree with Goons <3

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Blink

This whole plan seems rather unsporting, even reprehensible.

Isn't the double dipping method so blatantly obvious here that it hurts?

1.) Fake players (alts of lottery holder) buy tickets. Can't prove that it doesn't happen already anyway.

2.) Fake players win the limited ships, "lol randomly" ofc Roll . Can't prove that it doesn't happen already anyway.

3.) Lottery holder pockets all the the legit players money.

4.) Fake players offload their winnings.

5.) Fake player owner, the lottery holder, profits twice from same item(s).

First thought that popped into my head and I'm not even a scamming pro.

It makes perfect sense for ccp to hand these out to a player driven enterprise. You whiners are forgetting how much of eve is player driven.

"player driven" now equates to "developer-spawned items"

excellent point there

CCP should give me some free **** just because im not famous doesnt mean i dont deserve free bling probably worth billions a piece
best way and fairest is just randomly gift the ships among all the currently active accounts sure multiboxers have a slight edge but in reality they pay ccp more with more subs so fair giving it to Somer blink just feeds isk to already probably some of the richest people in the game and some random like me with less than a bill will never get my hands on some fancy ship atleast my way gives me a chance or just do with what they did the gnosis you dont see em flying around every where and it was so fair everyone got one if you wanna give free ships give it to everyone or no one or give everyone a fair chance

While I'm generally apathetic about things like this (because it doesn't really affect me in any way)... I must admit... something about this doesn't seem right.

BLINK will be getting ISK for items that were generated by DEVs... and that ISK will, to my knowledge, be staying in BLINK's accounts.
They are basically getting something for nothing.

The only way I can see this situation ever being "fair" is if the ISK gathered from the lotto is removed from the game entirely... but then that would raise all sorts of questions regarding why can't players just buy these ships normally in-game if they have billions or trillions of ISK to burn?

Actually... now that I think about it... that would be an interesting ISK-sink. Pay 5 trillion ISK to an NPC for a super rare ship anyone?

I love this post because it is

1) Possibly a troll
2) Not awful advice (the advice to the players, that is)
and
3) Completely against Eve's niche, and how they market the game. And adorably unaware of it.

So yeah, the truth is out. Eve is in fact Not Real, and CCP is being kind enough to shatter that illusion for us by favoring an ingame organization in a way that will profit them immensely.

Lol, before i forget, and considering latest CCP statement about removing the ships promised from the lottery:
So what should i understand, CCP? That you sustain a prize scam, considering there's not few people that did buy tickets ONLY BECAUSE OF THE PROMISED SHIPS, and also knowing Sumer is not giving isk back? Now some might say that they couldn't have known that players reaction will be like it is. Rofl, my a** they did not know. But some might stay to their Pink Rainbow Farting Unicorns and believe THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW. All hails for these guys. They my Working Class Heroes of the day.
Tripple Lol. CCP pls keep entertaining me.

ok, I set up a channel about a year and a half ago which I have admined and operated since, and has increased in popularity, spread mostly through word of mouth, and which has a stable and growing population and serves a large slice of eve's bigger entities. soooo, am i eligible to recieve dev-spawned items to use for promotion purposes? if the answer is no, then this whole premise is patently unfair and discriminatory and puts me at a competitive disadvantage 'just because'. i find the whole concept to be offensive.

CCP should instead issue these ships to newly created characters on newly created non-trial accounts. Say, there's a 0.1% chance of not getting a rookie ship spawned but instead a Guardian Vexor or something. Maybe with a message "Due to a bureaucratic error you have been assigned an incredible valuable ship instead of an Velator. It's yours to keep or sell or blow up. Fly safe."

THAT would further EVE, help newbies and give CCP some income without having some random guy getting rich off it. Sure, those with loads of ISK can try to activate tons of accounts using PLEX, but then at least those PLEX are gone.

It's ok the problem is now partially averted, Now to tackle the problem with Somer's deliberately increased revenue. and CCP favouritism. Promoting an organisation that is 100% driven for profit.

Dear CCP,

This is an atrocious idea. As I beleive that Somer Blink is nothing more than a scam, you CCP are,

- taking away the mistique of the rare ships
- showing favouritism to a group of players
- hurting your reputation, ( again )
- being taken for fools by these players.

This is simply an idiotic and horendous idea.

Gee whiz, if you are giving stuff away, then every player should be given their very own "frig of doom" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
