The other day as I was customizing my character I noticed that there was a severe lack of clothing options for my Character.

I then had a look at the other races character customersation and noticed they all posses their own unique sets of clothing and attire.

Such as the Amarr have robes and Gallente have more casual jackets and shirts.

And My frustration when I saw the awesome Caldari jackets (I love jackets with lots of pockets) and my character not being able to wear them.
_

My Question is: Why am I not allowed to wear the clothing of other races?

Why isn't all clothing options in the character creation regardless of race?

Am I as a Gallente citizen not allowed to wear clothing made by the Amarr if I felt like it?

Is it a Racial issue?

I can understand that CCP would want to have each race be distinct and to be recognized by the way they look and dress. But it still makes no sense that it is this way.

why can't I enter a Minmatar station and purchase their fashion and clothing? (Because there has to be clothing stores somewhere in new Eden) Don't they take kindly to people like me around those parts?

New Eden is apparently full of Racists P
_
But in all seriousness:

Couldn't CCP just make all clothing options available to us from the start?

Or if it's a problem just make it so that we can purchase them in the market for a couple of million or perhaps even for AUR.

I would pay for that, I love the character models of EVE, i just wish I had more freedom in what clothing I could wear.

I think we all wish we had more clothing and hair color options. Many have suggested they would siebd aurum on such vanity items and not be upset by such micro-transactions. We can only hope.

You should see the women's amarr coats up close... they make my butt look fat!

Seriously, I would like a lot more options for recustomization that isn't just through the Nex store. It gets rather boring seeing the lack of versatility in the characters now that I've been playing the game so long.

I would really like the ability to change my skin color to green/blue/red and my features to be more alien if I choose. That would be cool.

CCP!

I want a ponytail!

Where is my ponytail CCP?

I expect this to become top priority. The next post in this topic will thus be a CCP employee reasuring me that my ponytail is on its way...

Everyone wants good-looking ships, so why wouldn't we want good-looking apparel? CCP makes it clear that this is a role-playing game - greater personal customization assists in interpreting those roles.

More customization options would indeed be welcome. CCP did a fantastic job when they changed characters' appearances - when was that? 2006 or so? It's been a while, so updates and adjustments to character appearance should be a consideration.

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

Actually it was the summer of 2011........There is probably a reason CCP has been somewhat reluctant to invest more time into the character creator since then...

We are back to the problem of Incarna and Walk in Station. 2011 it was yes.

They have spent a lot of time and ressources to devellop at the same time the Incarna project, dust 514 and another game.
It's has been a huge fail for CCP because :
- In order to focus on these new projects, they have totally abandonned the spaceship game EVE.
- With Incarna they have introduced the shop where you could buy a few clothes/accessories for your character, but the prices were shockingly high (monocles anyone ?).
- By a despiting, arrogant and clumsy lack of comminucation with the players, they are responsible for the largest riot ever seen in an online game because they were so reluctant to give to the players their word that the online shop would never be used to sell anything which could give an ingame advantage (pay to win).
- While they were making us dreaming of great adventures and social interactions for our characters, all what we got was ONE standard room from which we could not escape and in which we were doomed to walk alone aimlessly. This has not changed two years later.
- Dust has not been released for pc while EVE runs on pc... It has instead been release for a console which was already old at this time.
- The other game, which had no link with EVE, has been abandonned.
- A lot of players (we will never know the true numbers sadly) have stopped their subscription (me included) to protest against that fail and the way CCP handled the players' concerns during this crisis (greed is good).

So yes, now we have on the arms an atrophied Incarna with few clothes and a pointless 3d body in a pointless 3d room.
Both sides of the players are unhappy with it : The ones who wanted to play with their character out of ship are disappointed (the word is weak) because there is nothing at all, and the ones who wanted that CCP does care more for the EVE the spaceship game have been ignored for long.
For my part i feel like i'm part of both sides, and am doubly sad when i come to think of it.

I feel that originally CCP wanted to limit what you could choose based off your race to give each race a unique look. This was the case with skin tones until a year ago. Back then only Brutor could be really dark, and Sebiestors could be really pale. Same went with hair color, and one of the deciding factors for me choosing Galante was the red/purple tip hair colors which were not available for all races. Back then it was really easy to take a quick look at a character and figure out which bloodline they were.

Then CCP decided in order to create a broader variety of characters they would go the opposite route. The goal which they began to work on was mixed bloodlines where you could choose a secondary bloodline and use the slider to find a unique look. I believe the project went on hiatus when team avatar was disbanded, but CCP threw us a bone and let us choose from a wider selection of skin and hair colors.

Similarly, I don't think that it would be that much harder to also make the clothes available although I do like the Gallente eagle shirt.

Edit: when I first saw the topic I thought "yeah it would be awesome to have a Formula 1 suit or a motorcycle jacket."

You just answered your own question. Every faction SHOULD be unique, since they redid the avatars theres very little race variation a sit is, atleast through clothing the factions look a little different, dont take thatb away aswel.

If you want to wear Gallentian cloths make a Galential character, you have 2 other slots on your account.

I kinda wish they would actually "go back" in terms of clothing. With the old,, old avatars, races were vastly different from one another in terms of aesthetics. They don't have to make it as extreme as it was back then, but a little more diversity wouldn't hurt in my opinion.

As it is right now, we all look like we escaped from the same JCPenny catalog anyway.

Now what you are saying is stupid, beacuse each race is unique.

This is just clothing; I refuse to beleive every human/capsuleer in new Eden is a steadfast patriot/racist that refuses to wear the clothing of "others"

Brutor will still look like Brutor even if he is wearing the sleeveless vest that Gallente has.

Do you honestly beleive that if we suddenly got all clothing options avalible to us that people would just dress completly randomly and cross speises?

Ofcourse some would, but others would just find a fit they really liked. Or some would stay with the clothing their race has.

--

And don't you go tell me that I should just make another character! that is stupid and you know it.

When you play the game for a long time you don't want to just start over from nothing just so you can have a new jacket.

The game should not punish me just beacuse I want a Caldari jacket. I really like my Gallente character, Caldari can't get dreadlocks, and I think that is fine. I can understand if Caldari citizens don't allow such Deviant hairstyles in their ranks
Or Amarr being pale and monk like.

But For clothing to never leave the bodies of their owners and end up in the hands of others? That is unlikely. We already fly space ships cross speices, I'm Gallente, and I fly Minmatar ships all the time.

Why in the world can't I wear their clothing too? The ship is our avatar ingame anyways, and we don't have any rules for what race pilots what ship. So why is clothing now a big deal?

Originally CCPs intention was to have the majority of clothing in the NEX store, and just give you a selection of "starter" items.

After numerous complaints the NEX has been put on hold, so numerous items are either unavailable or restricted.

It took us 2 years to get non-tented glasses after all.

Not a forum alt.

Well, apparently CCP's top brass thinks that other things are more relevant than avatars. Suggestions on how to make them shift their mind are welcome...

Simple solution; Allow us the items in our wardrobes, as in RL ...We can then sell them for what we wish on the market or contracts. This will cause a surge in sales of those items, more tax for CCP to pour down the drain WIN WIN!!

That's the exact system we have now. Or haven't you noticed the new market category that popped up in the last year or two--"Apparel"?

"But they were bought from the NeX store with Aurum!"

So were Plexes. Don't see you complaining about that.

And actually, Plexes break the ten-year game balance--one character gets SP/account.

While chainging your outfit lets you hide in local if people aren't lookign at names.

ooooh.....scary.
