I would really like to see the EVE online soundtrack get polished with new synthezizer tunes.
All respect to the composer Jon Hallur cause I love his music, and that´s why I think his work deserves this update.

I finally turned the music volume up for the first time in about a year.

The music is great as always, but gets way way monotonous, way too early.

I liked being able to manually skip around the tracks.

I just always thought it was the strangest thing to remove the jukebox, of all things.

I don´t mind so much about the jukebox. There´s always youtube to jukebox EVE music from. ;)
Remix is more what I want, and a couple of them of the same track. All mixes should be Jon Hallurs work.
Like this one for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAacPQxjezA
And this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSWJKBxRXuo

Masterpiece. Really captures the power of EVE.

I know what you mean, but Youtube, even just music selections, is actually playing a 'video', not a 'low-power' audio track.

Burdens the video card further while playing EVE.

First, I never see any difference if playing from youtube or not.
Second, play the EVE tracks from your folder instead then.

Nope. They are in a ridiculous format that has to be converted first.

Utter nonsense.

Some off topic posts were removed.

I would like to add that the EVE Online in-game soundtracks are available on Soundcloud in high quality.

There was a survey that everybody was more than welcome to respond to and that clearly showed that people wanted the jukebox removed.

But for sure, there was a lot of thought put into it - but having adaptive music removes the use of the jukebox.

you should use the music from the soundcloud page if you want that.
or if you don't like the current track playing, there is a "hack" around it - go to the menu, turn the music volume to zero and up again - and a new track magically appears.

Hi,

Consider it done. I'm more than happy to write more tunes.

Regards,
Jón Hallur

p.s. If you wan't to skip a song, you can enter the settings window (ESC key in the client), lower the volume of the music to 0, and then back up you will get a new random track. Perhaps we should add a skip button somewhere if it is needed.

I believe Below the Asteroids needs a sequel. Something like Below the Asteroids v. 2.0.

Yea, and that Valkyrie Trailer - Below The Asteroids "remix" whatever they call it should be finished at some point if I ever get the time,.

Above or slightly to the left of the asteroids perhaps?

It should be a highly transcendental piece and be called "Beyond the Asteroids".

Beyond the Perphiery would be more transcendental..

That's some twisting of words and most indeed !! Evil

The survey asked if the Jukebox was used, not if people wanted it removed.

Hahaha what joy to read.
Really feels great to start a thread where so many devs and Jon Hallur himself replies :D A warm feeling washes through my heart =)
Either I´m crazy or Jon Hallurs tracks to EVE really rocks =) Can´t stop listening to the tracks when I work nightshifts in my securityguard car =) Probably it´s both :P

Glad to hear that you would make more music, Jon. And yes, Below the Asteroids (my favourite track) deserves a sequel. This track is EVE and New Eden in a nutshell.
I would like to see Theme from Jita be evolved as well. Made it last week in my cheap keybord :P. Really nice tunes. The from Jita just make me feel calm and proud to be a trader.

PS. Please make two tracks as well for me: Gallente sissies and Minmatar rats :P

Jón Hallur composes some of the best music I've heard. It was bliss to hear his work in Harpa performed by a symphony.

Would it ever be possible to have more context aware music selection? Like, it would know when you are in PVP combat and play more intense music?
