COSMOS caveats?

I was thinking of doing the COSMOS and data center missions. Any caveats (other than the need to do Caldari missions before Amarr missions)?

If I want to max a reputation to 10.0 would it be better to do the COSMOS missions immediately or wait until I am 6 or 7 with the faction and use the COSMOS missions to top out?

Unless you want to plant towers in high sec or sell a faction buff service, it's completely pointless to get faction up that high.

Just sayin'...

Reduces refinery tax, reprocessing taxes, and market transaction taxes
Gives access to all agents in faction
Grants faction BPCs
Helps in faction warfare

Refining and reprocessing tax are affected by corp standing only, not faction. Access to agents requires faction standing 5 or 7 (5 for L4, 7 for L5)

Not completely true. Faction standing flows into the game's formula for the amount of broker fees you have to pay trading items. So for active traders gaining high faction standing (e.g. with the Caldari State for Jita trading) is indeed far from pointless:

For a graphical illustration: EVE Market Order Broker Fees ... picture also includes the formula.

And yes, faction standing may not really contribute that much, but with a sufficient amount of trading it adds up.

EDIT: One caveat on the agent access. Doesn't work that way for the R&D agents. You need some corp. standing with them as well. IIRC for a level 4 agent you either need +5.0 with corp. OR +5.0 with faction & +3.0 with corp. ... else it would be to easy for pure mission runners to unlock all the agents without ever having done anything for the particular NPC corp. at all.

Why the need to do Caldari before Amarr ones?
