I have been getting dc'd over and over again for the last few days since the patch, continuous I can't play for more then 5-10 minuets without the server timing out or the socket closing.

WTF?

No its not my internet and eve ran just fine before the new patch. Nothing DC's except EvE. Even launching from the .exe file doesn't fix it.

Have you done a traceroute to see where the issue might be? My whole corp and I have been fine today. Could actually be your ISP.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

Its not my ISP as I even conected wirelessly through my wifi hotspot on my Verizon phone (Instead of my cable conection through comcast). In any case if it was my ISP I would be DCing from "Everything", Not just Eve as it would be an ISP server, not the "EvE" Tranquility Server.

Again the only thing I DC from AT ALL, is EvE Online, and ONLY since the last update. So the only thing that has changed for me and others which could cause said DC's, is:

The last Update.

Its something they did in the Last patch.

What I have noticed however is that it "Seems" to DC you if your afk for more then 2-5 minuets, whether mining or autopiloting. Maybe they are attempting to implement an auto-kick for afk system like other games have.

However if this is the case I don't think they understand that you CAN NOT DO THIS WITH EVE. As 60% of most players time is spent semi AFK. Especially when Mining or doing trading, or Industry of any type, While Gate camping, even while Auto piloting.

It seems to also kick specifically, if you are multi boxing. And multiple accounts is a staple of eve.

If this is not the case then there is a severe issue with the client due to some conflict in the last patch. I am not the only one having this issue and there are many other threads and new complaints springing up daily about these Disconects. If it was just me yea, might be on my end, but when it is happening to 100's of people at the same time all over the world.

It's CCP, not the player. And if a Dev could respond on this just to say "Hey, were aware and looking into it, That would be great. Because these posts have been springing up since the last update and no word from CCP at all.

It's getting so bad I can't even play the game anymore.

Well, considering how I have gone afk for hours after this last patch and it hasn't kicked me off I don't think its CCP trying a new AFK kicking mechanic. In addition, if it was some bug on CCP behalf, there would be a whole lot more people upset about than just the few I've seen thus far.

The one thing I would ask is if you have completely uninstalled and re-installed your Eve client? The reason may be simply that the patch update messed up a few setup files due to a glitch or bad part of the hard drive, etc. In fact, you may want to do some HDD diags first to see if it locates a bad cluster on your hard drive. Some of the patch may have been written there and it could be the reason why its not staying connected.

I did do a full reinstall, But, i will try it again after I defrag my harddrive (Which my comp does automatically every wednesday) just to be sure.

You mean like this 9 page thread of people complaining about socket closures?

Yes, except that it would be nine+ pages in a day, not nine pages in five months.

Now, back this problem. First, did you try completely uninstalling it before re-installing it? Second, defrag only deals with the organziation of the files across the hard drive (unless they recently changed it), what you want to do is go into your Computer Management screen -> Disk management-> Right click on the drive Eve is installed on and go into properties. Under the Tools tap there is the option to do "Error-Checking". That is the tool you need to use to see if you might have a damaged section of your drive.

Theres now a 35 page thread complaining about this issue all in the last week, and yes I did all the above.

The only fix to this for me Ive found and its only a temp one because it pops back up after 24 to 48 hours and you ahve to do one of the below all over again to fix it is:

A. Complete Re install

B. Run the repair tool repeatedly until it fixes it.

I think its a conflict with multiple clients honestly, as I've noticed an ominous Launcher error if I close the launcher after a few DC's. The repair tool fixes it, but it always comes back eventually.

Also my clients do not all DC at the same time. In fact it's random as hell, but it always DC's the one I am not currently clicked on, or the ones which I am alt tabbed out of first.
