I think the same as last 5 years ago don`t see any different here. Or some sort of expansions will be release that boost my login time.

There'll be some balancing work to be done, CCP makes a big show of doing this while screwing it up in the process. There'll be a fanfest, CCP showcases some new gameplay and the fans cheer, shows some new graphic and they cheer louder. The gameplay and graphics go live, capsuleers everywhere ***** that CCP just screwed over a decent part of the game and the graphic is a pain. There'll be a thread in a forum, asking where Eve will be in 5 years....

Simple question, Where do you see EVE Online in 5 years?

Nowhere... unless there is a huge effort by the "management" to inject some new intense and game-shaking content.

Losing senior devs for various reasons doesn't help that and neither has, IMHO, this experiment with DUST.

Sure, nothing is a simple as a few lines of text might like to suggest, however well informed, but let's face it -- its time to crap or get off the pot.

IF it is lucky still in critical condition limping along with a small overall player base, if not then a fading memory of a game that never reached its potential.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

More and more balanced. First concern for ccp is balancing. They do balance all the time.

In 5 years no new innovative content, no new amazing ships, no new solar systems, wormholes, galaxy, no new pos systems, no mobile station, no destructible outposts, the same old game...

I believe CCP lost audacity, it's just satisfied to balance things

Where will EVE be in 5 years?
I imagine many of us will have left. It seems that the developers are preparing to move back to pay-to-win, or "pay-to-upgrade" systems within the next few expansions with all of the staff changes. EVE will likely become less of an "intellectual" game and more of "who has the most IRL money!?". The only truly amazing sci-fi MMO will have died. EVE will have died - not in the sense that CCP would go bankrupt from loss of subscriptions, but rather that what made EVE, EVE - that essence will have vanished.

Where would I like to see EVE in 5 years?
Updated graphics! New content expansions (balance expansions should be finished by 2014) that make gameplay more interesting and fun. More support for small or microgang gameplay, and more fun on that level of combat! I would love to see some new gameplay aspect (in the sense that wormholes were new) that would help the small-gang PvP'er rather than only catering to massive alliances. I'd love to see an updated CQ with updated graphics in which we could all visit the inside of a station (a lot of potential for minigames, gambling, betting on duels, maybe even something like DUST 514, etc... ).

Ideal reality, unfortunately, is far from reality.

CCP wins the MMO war of 2017 and all other MMO yield to the power of EvE online and becomes mini games on the EvE server. WoW players are seen ducking for cover from orbital strikes that seem to come from no where.

More CQ stuff? That's not going to happen. Hilmar & al have made up their minds about not implementing avatar gameplay in EVE Online, rather *maybe* develop it as a separate game, sometime.

EVE is and will always be only a spaceships & spreadsheets game.

But don't count on CCP having the galls to make a official statement about this.

In 5 years, CCP will hint at possible POS changes.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Everyone has already stopped using Blackberry.
