only people that would leave EVE for SC [note the people who actually leave, not the people that [play both] are the same people who avoid any player interaction anyway, good riddance.

Sure CCP wont like it, but they are just numbers, not people.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Bleh, sounds like pay to win rubbish, I would rather have a game where the tools to fight with are equal.

Numbers pay for future development. Like Valkyrie which is pretty much CCP's repsone to SC.

It has that twitch based environment.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

it is not going to be a competition, since it's not going to be a single shard game

Personally I think star citizen will just be twitch combat, if it ever becomes more than vaporware.

Not a forum alt.

SC has more in common with a freespace LAN party than eve
SC is probably closer to the X series than eve as well ....

lobby based games with unlimited instances do not make it massively multiplayer

I hope SC is awesome and I intend to play the hell out of it (one one screen....while I mine in EVE on another...lets see SC do that :) ) .

But it really does say something about the posters who WANT it to kill EVE (like they wanted all the previous games to do, which none of them did lol). They don't like how EVE is right now (or ever) and they think "competitoon" will force CCP to change the game in a way that prevents them from having to cry about stuff.

The most fun thing in the world to me is wathcing these same "x game is gonna kill EVE" people be dissapointed as their awesmoe new game turns out to be....just another game that isn't EVE.

lol STO ...

how to ruin a perfectly good IPO in one go Lol
the same happened with Star Wars as well, even Bioware fumbled that ball and they are usually pretty good at content.

It's when you factor in MWO & Hawken, that you could start thinking there's a trend moving away from fantasy settings towards sci-fi
then you realise, sadly, that for every sci-fi themed game there's about 100 fantasy ones Blink

Well its a fighter sim which means its a twitch game which is not EVE.

Have you tried the new exploration mechanic, 'grab a can' in Eve?

The word: 'twitch' comes to mind immediately.

This is not a signature.

im going to play both. SC as a jump in game.... pew some people for a hour and hop out of game type thing.
i was hopeing to play it more but... instances.... $250 ships... only 100 systems.... not a game i will put effort into.

tbh im more excited about X rebirth, i can easily put 1000 hours into those games.

That one if the made it correct have indeed very big impact in eve however cryptic is a very bad company and rush the game to soon. This was the first mistake let alone to buy to win modules the have now. I love star trek big fan for the series even the new ones but damn the f*ck that up.

star citizen is instanced. thats all.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

The only game that could compete with this one would be one just like it but without gates and all mining ops done by NPCs that the players own and must defend.

Star Citizen is full of statist tripe that the average Eve player won't take a liking to.
