Prices of faction ships

I noticed a strange thing about faction ships.
I’m trying to cash in on my LP, and while browsing through the Items off my favorite LP store I noticed that Faction ships are NOT worth the LP and money you have to sink into them.

If I want a faction ship its cheaper to buy them on the marked then to buy them in the LP store. Same goes for the BPC’s of faction ships.

My question is where do the lowpriced ships factionships on the marked come from?

Am I missing a source of faction ships? Or are they cheaper in some stores (FW)?
Or are there people who think LP exchange rate is 1:10 ISK instead of 1:1000 ISK?

Ok, let me spell it out a bit better:

For some individuals, they see only the isk price of a ship, and forget the time factor and conversion factors to be applied to any economic calculations when attempting to assess the relative worth of each ship or faction module.

This is also a phenomenon experienced within the mining and industrial sectors, where one can encounter certain individuals who are under the impression that they can eliminate excessive build costs by obtaining their mineral via their own efforts in their own mining vessels. This allows them to reduce the price of building a given item as they see it.

Outside of advanced economic circles, this phenomenon is known as "Mineral I mine are free", and through colloquial usage, this phrase has become used within the wider economy.

Hopefully this better expresses the sentiment I attempted to convey briefly in my original post.

As an example, to the layman, the following seems quite feasible:

"Hey, this CNR is X million, wow, that is a lot of isk in my pocket"

However, as you are aware of the complexities of transactions within New Eden, you will of course, have calculated the time investment to obtain the required Loyalty Points, and assigned an isk value based on the final market price of the ship, and concluded that CNRs are not worth obtaining.

So iff I get it right the enormous flow off underpriced factionships is only because off people who dont understand the worth of LP.

Its amazing really, I can understand that some people make the "mistake" but the marked is practicaly saturated with underpriced ships so that must mean a lot off people think this way

Actually no..

Faction ships are cheaper in FW LP stores compared to LP stores of mission corps..

I.e faction frig costs 10k LP in FW LP store and 30k LP in the "regular" missioning corps store

As Rob points out, it is a combination of the two factors, the cheaper in FW (and for some reason, cheaper in FW means people want to keep the same margin *shrugs*), and the "I just want isk for my LP, that thing looks shiny"

Its not a new phenomenon, certainly for the last 5 years, the mantra has been "For the love of god do not buy your faction BS with your LP, get them from the market instead, its better value"
