Got addicted to EVE and made a vow to quit it for a few months to focus on IRL issues. Now having serious withdrawal which involved me watching all of Clear Skies again and listening to "I'm A Rokh". So much for focusing on IRL. I BLAME CCP

Am I going crazy? Has this happened to anyone else?

Dats not healthy, brah.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

I'm in a hotel room near DC on an insufficient notebook and hotel internet, so I get it. When I can't game, I take a lot of solace in designing my training regimen. I'll also model stuff over on Singularity.

Not much to offer you, but hopefully that's better than nothing.

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

Its time to call your sponsor. Dabbling in the forums is only going to lead to relapse and potentially time in rehab. You've got your 3 month chip, keep going, you can do this!

You dont quit eve. you just take extended time off in your CQ.

Been playing too long to have that issue. Eventually you get to the point where you don't really play anymore. You just log on every now and then, keep your skill training going and have a little chat with someone who happens to be online.

Eve becomes just a habbit and your character is a bit like a plant. You have to fertilize it with money to keep it going and give it some attention to help it grow, but you don't actually do much with it.

dude my jaw dropped. I thought picking Army over wife was bad..

wait, do you mean she played it, or you did.

in a related manner, I found solace in my girls never leaving me. currently on a hardcore skillqueue hiatus, paying subs in 3 month increments in cash.

I don't feel bad, cuz CCP deserves it, and I'll have things to sell when I get back.

my advice: never quit. maintain skillqueue or you'll regret it.

Yes. I've heard too many horror stories of people quitting their skill queues on what they thought would be a short vacation, only to return 5 years later with so much wasted potential training.

I, myself, downloaded EVE in 2008. Game was a bit complex and I was a bit too sleepy; so I just deleted it and moved on. How I wish I had just continued playing for 10 more minutes...

We both played but I seen that it was effecting our married life so I quit but she couldn't. We drew farther aprat and are now divorced. Aside from other reasons such as meeting up with a guy she met on wow and knocked boots with him.

So in other words your cheating ex-wife was the cause of your marriage ending. WOW did nothing to actually kill your relationship. Her inability to keep her vows or remember the reasons she loved you is her fault alone.

Not that anything I have to say matters but it is healthy to remember where blame actually belongs and not hold the source of the venue as the responsible party in any regard.

Addiction is based on repetition (slot machines).

Are you addicted to grinding missions in eve?

Eve wasn't built as "addictive".

You got other issues - Eve is the solution/entertainment at the end of the day.
