[video] pvp video's

So I've been teaching myself to make pvp video's. I also today tried to make a commentary video which for better or worse ends up me bitching for 6 minutes about just about anything I do, which is fairly par for the course.

Anyway, here's the video's that I've made so far.

pvp commentary - crucifier
Explanation of fit and two fights with commentary on what I did and what went wrong.
http://youtu.be/G3uh6GZ3eUA

atronic fast
Couple of fights set to music. Mostly as a video editing test tbh.
http://youtu.be/n8k7I9yEEkY

Solo crucifier
Couple of fights in a crucifier, with j-rock music.
http://youtu.be/cBYnxTYgQ28

atron vs the world
Couple of fights in an atron, with k-pop music.
http://youtu.be/tX6FpNIxyjU

Older stuff is of questionable quality, it's all frigate fights because that's what I like. Fights are without links and only a zor's implant or/and genolutions for fitting.

So let me know what you think. My solo stuff is mostly fuelled by me looking for a quick fight, so frigates and the FW zone. But other then that I'm open to suggestions.

Didn't want that Sov anyway.

Great stuff Roigon... I have tried the cruicifier before with mixed success. Too many rocket boats around these days.

Blink
2mins in to the first vid, already 2 mistakes. Stated TDd optimal doesn't match what's shown, and you didn't show the heated AAR rep, which AFAIK should always be heated.
That and the sound of a dropped pen P

More seriously though, I think you've got the potential to produce some nice commentary vids, just shake out the rust and ease into it so there's less ums & ers. The edit quality seems fine & your content is quite clear & valid Smile

P.S. that fit could easily have a T2 AB for more speed, no?

I avoid rocket/missile ships like the plague that they are ^.^
I'm not afraid of taking a difficult match-up, when I was buzzing about in my rail atron I would go after punishers, executioners or in fact crucifiers without a second thought. All ships that can certainly project their DPS far enough.
But with hookbills I just assume they are snaked/linked fits, and I'm also not keen for going after condors because of all the TD/damp kiting fits.

Unfair generalization on my part, but a bias acquired trough experience.

I actually really want to take on some short range destroyers with this fit. In theory I should have a fair chance at taking on ac thrashers or blaster catalysts. Unfortunately they aren't as common as they used to be, and while I'd have a fair shot on paper, on TQ I can under no circumstance let them get close ever, not even for a moment. So warping into a plex with a thrasher already inside is more or less suicide. On paper however it looks delicious. (200mm AC thrasher with gyro and barrage loaded does about 20DPS at 8km vs the crucifier ^.^ )

heh, yes the slicer numbers I talk about where actually fictional with use of a calculator, then while editing I decided to put in an actual fit and show it. Unfortunately the numbers where a bit off. I wanted to re-record, but was unable to get the same sound of voice, as such I would have to re-record the entire thing and I was too lazy to do that.

It however still shows how brutal a bonused TD can be which is why I went for the slicer example instead of something more common like say a blaster/rail or autocannon based ship, since the effect would seem less effective. Well, perhaps a damage graph would do the trick.

For the next video I'm thinking of using a screencast to do the pyfa/eft number bits. Making screenshots of everything is just very time consuming.

As for the umms & errs. Most of the initial summary of the ship in pyfa was written first and then spoken. But for the fights I decided to simply record while watching it. I was actually mostly worried with lining up the audio with what was shown on the screen. But afterwards it was quite easy to modify to let it all line up. So for the next video I will probably watch the fights back a few times and then write some rough draft of what I want to say before recording.

Which will hopefully also help in pointing out more what I should be doing instead of focusing on what I'm doing wrong. I'm quite a critical person for my own performance and being away from game for a bit hadn't helped. So while recording I just kept seeing things I'm doing wrong and not having time to say what I should have done or was planning to do. Frig solo pvp, apparently not like riding a bike.

I'm actually quite embarrassed with the second battle. From watching the footage if I had only put a scram/web on that firetail that was close while the other was guy was overshooting by a mile I might have been able to get out of tackle range and cheekily warp off. Also the slicer was a bad, I actually lost tackle for like 15 seconds or so and he could have totally warped off. Anyway ...

As for T2 AB. You are correct, I just looked at the numbers and a T2 AB would be better. Also more expensive obviously, but for this fit perhaps worth it. 45m/s difference, OH 73m/s. Obviously not a mayor improvement, but could very well end up making the difference.
