Updated Gallente PVP Fits

So, I've been away for a year. I left right after the T1 frig changes and the intro of the ASB. I come back and all of my cruiser+ fits are out of date. Ive never used an AAR or RAH. I'd love some new fits and/or tactic suggestions. I'm in Facwar-lowsec-small gang pvp. Unless forced to do otherwise for some lame fleet doctrine, I only fly Gallente - even when they sucked. Near max skilled with hybrids and drones. I prefer active armor, but fly buffer and ASB shield fits too. Before I left, I flew Vexors, Thorax (blaster and rail), Brutix (blaster and rail), Myrm, Mega and Domi mostly. I fly frigates too, but frankly Im wretched with them.

Being in Facwar, I have and use Comets, VNI, and ENI. Can get BNI if they are worth it.

Some, specific fits I'd like updated suggestions for:

Neutron/Buffer Mega. Lots of new grid and an extra low. Another plate? AAR? Speed mod?

'Solo' Kil2/Club Bear mega. Old fit was Neutrons/Ions Heavy Neut/ mwd web scram booster/ plate, LAR, Eanm x2, magstab, DCU/ ACR, trimark x2. Add another plate, or an AAR? Change rigs?

And generally would love anything else you can suggest for lowsec small gang: New dessie (forget the name) Tristan, Comet, Vexor, Thorax, Brutix, Myrm, Mega, Domi, (Hype now too?), and any of the navy ships.

EDIT: Is the MJD useful at all for small gang?

I know this is really a broad request, but that is what this forum is for, right? ;)

Thanks in advance.

I'd throw some fits your way, but I'm at work without access to EFT. Rest assured though, Gallente are in a MUCH better place than they were a year ago. I think you'll like what you find Blink

Medium railguns rock, be sure into experimenting with them on thorax and brutix.

What bothers me with all these buffs a bit out of whack if the number of nerfs that will follow in a couple months. This is whe reason why as mainly Gallente trained main pilot I fully disagree on some changes -drone boats bonus/mechanics out of whack, med rails loosing tracking but getting "theoretical" huge dps.

Meanwhile, things are being set smoothly and certainly to make lasers better than ever in near future, just an opinion of course.

You are wrong to assume that the dps is theoretical. On TQ Rapiers, Arazus, Lokis, Protei and Vigilants run around all day and where these ships roam (at least 3 of the above are good with med rails now btw) the dps of a med rail is pretty much applied. After all the people who run the numbers inform me that with signature taken into account 250s still track 6 times better than 425s... and I never had problems with a Mega (or even Naga - Rokh) when I had a few good webs on my team...

Mega is not the issue not large rails (7.5% tracking bonus per BS level helps a bit) - med rails on unbonused tracking hulls don't work that good, I'm not saying hey don't work at all but saying one of the most important stats for this weapon system got a huge nerf hit.
Use the same ship with med rails without a single Te then make another one with TEs and TC script tracking, then tell us what happens.
I'd rather loose 5% dps per gun but win 5% tracking, but it's just me.

All these posts and not a single fit? Tsk, tsk.

And weren't medium beams and artys buffed too? A lot of people wanted these changes for some reason. And though people would point and laugh when I brought a 250 Rail (old) Brutix to a (old) arty Hurricane and/or (old) Drake fleet, if they cared to look it would do very well. Clearly it didn't have the alpha, but on targets that weren't one shot, it out damaged everything and could switch targets faster due to lower cycle time... IMHO, damage or damage application for medium rails/artys/beams wasn't an issue even then. The Brutix hull needed buffing (done) and HMLs and the Hurricane were way overpowered and needed nerfing (done). And now they buffed damage to rails/artys/beams? I haven't flown a rail Thorax or Brutix yet since I have been back but from what I read ... wow. The raw EFT damage numbers seem pretty silly.

Time will tell, but I (personally) thought the damage wasn't that bad before (it was the hulls and HMLs). These new changes sure seem like they have gone a bit far (but I sure do hate to lose tracking). Rail BNI fleets, anyone? We will see.

Now someone please post some fits!

I killed the pyramid as its just above for anyone who cares.

To the point I got your meaning the first time around. I restate the position: 45% more dps (approx.) for 25% less tracking was well worth it.

People use long range webs, scrams, painters and all that to the point that when you are with more than 2-3 people in gang, invariably you will NOT have tracking issues with med rails. Trust I have been using them even solo since the patch.

For added emphasis I gave you the example of ships with L rails which do 6 times worse tracking wise (5.5 in the case of the Mega) and can still track plenty well to get the job done when the average target has a rapier or loki on him, let alone vigilant / Vindi / Marauder...

I am not saying med rails are OP but I am definately saying that the changes were a serious buff that made them work after many many many years. You urge me to try them by I have on 25-30 occasions since the patch and I am telling you they work, they do apply the extra dps well in a semi competent small gang setting. I think medium (Heavy) beams are probably equally good now and I have them next on the to do list.

You rly dont need fits. For Eagles Ferox's etc they are the same fits as before only a whole lot more effecitve. For the gallente boats the recipy is to take any vessel that you previously had fitted with Heavy Neutron Blaster II and fit 250 IIs. Make sure you can web effectively (Vigilant is made for this) or have friends who can. Basically you have the same dps (!!!) with a lot better range and insane fall off on fal off bonused ships.

Provided you cater for the tracking difference (not so difficult) it translates to a 25-50% increase in applied dps in an "around the gate 30 km sphere" situation than the blaster set up + the ability to keep doing 50% of your total dps to ranges like 40-60km. You can even use spike...

On the gallente hulls you occasionally will have to switch one armor rig out for an acr but that doesnt cripple the tank and the extra mobility is always nice Blink

I must be doing something wrong or maybe is just my "grrr tracking nerf", probably a bit of both Lol
