That sucks. Can't say I blame him. I've not been playing a year, but the Eve I read about and got me interested in playing isn't the same Eve I get to play. I will surely miss reading his blog posts about the game. Everyone of them was worth reading.

People come and go a lot in Eve. How many posts do we see here that start out saying, "I was away from the game for [insert timeframe here], and I've just started playing again . . . "

I don't pay that much attention . . .

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

This. I have to say, he put it very well. The EVE that I joined for? The Wild West in space? Is slowly being pushed to the side, and out of the picture by successive changes.

New player friendly = old player hostile, shall be my new motto.

I shall stick around. I still have plenty of friends playing, and still have plenty of reason to play the game. But the moment that I truly believe that EVE has sold out to the casuals? I shall leave. I will never play Trammel again. I played UO. I was a monster in UO, the kind of person the carebears in this game have no idea about. Trammel took away my faith in their game, I walked away and I never returned.

If I genuinely suspect EVE of taking that path, they shall never receive my money again. That is a betrayal I do not forgive.

So I can stand behind him in this decision. Especially because he is just putting it on hold and playing "wait and see", not fully quitting yet.

If you want to quit, cancel your subscription, refuse the "paid press acct."

as an incursion runner myself i agree they are somewhat.. easy. Not going to say the isk/hour is stupid the main problem is its that same couple sites per system, with the same mechanics. If you run incursions for a week you'll know as much as someone who's run them for 2+ years because the overall mechanics and content is really that shallow. Needs more challenge, more randomization.

Keep the fleets on thier toes with freak spawns and bonus waves, add random objectives which may or may not spawn during a site - secure a tower, intercept a bonus wave with fast ships defend a stationary asset from sansha assaults with logis suddenly having more to do than stare at bc history. Maybe add more to the asteroid belt rats, make them become sites in themself. Create new sites altogether, new objectives and tasks. CCP dont need to go and create new specific assets, they have the sansha structures and the ships so thats some of the work done already

So he's burned out in 2 years... not that much noteworthy, 2-3 year is the deadly zone where most players quit... and then they come back again.

Looking back on all the "end of the worlds / sky is falling" since i started in 06.

Lets see...

Supercapitals will ruin the game <- jury out on that one.
