Low sec data / relic exploration blows

I spent a few hours yesterday and today doing some data and relic sites. I managed to find and complete three sites and netted about 25m worth of loot. Almost on par with mining. However, if we take into account the effort to obtain the loot, I would say that data / relic exploration is in fact inferior to mining. What a disappointment. :(

Try nullsec or WH exploration.

Point first, immediately regret later.

I tend to hang out in nullsec exploring, it's hit and miss but I only play for a few hours a day. I average around 200m per full cargo hold in my Buzzard. I wanted to log off yesterday but then I ran into 1 relic and 4 data sites in one system... it was after downtime so I'm not sure that has anything to do with it Smile I couldn't leave them so had to clean them all up :)

So yeah, looking at my wallet I've made 500m over the last 4-5 days with 1-2 hours a day, so average is around 50m a hour (but it can vary). But I don't tend to fail any mini-games unless the random gods are cruel to me, then it's only a failure per site max. My profit doesn't include the bpc's I get as well, no idea if they're worth anything but I have tonnes of T2 ones.

Plus I always cargo scan the sites, mentally noting how many of each item I expect and watch what I loot so to know what to click next Smile I didn't know there were rats in the WH sites Shocked quickly left, thank god for cloaked warping Lol

WH still has rats, and unless you're doing T3 production, probably not worth your time.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

No rats in profession sites. Only WHs.

I'll try nullsec next. Is there any difference between NPC null sec and player-owned null sec?

As far as the sites go, no. The locals probably won't be happy with you in deep sov null, but they also won't hesitate to shoot you in NPC null either. The real difference is that you won't be able to dock in sov null but you can in NPC null.

Isn't that just what he said? WH sites have rats.

I spent 2 minutes scanning down a data in my system yesterday, shot the neutral that was in it, and then extracted 25m of loot from the wreck and from the cans.

It would appear to be functioning perfectly to me :)

Confirming that looting covops frigs is the way to go. Bring a salvager?

Nah, was just a heron, if I get a covops I'll salvage it. its certainly an amusing minigame. Hopefully with the slow but steady rate of installing survey arrays in my region neutral "spawns" might come with more loot in the future.

3 sites in a couple of hours is a bit low.

camp a pipe leading to a deadend pocket, let them enter & run the sites, wait witha evil pplaced smartbomb BS.

activat said smartbomb at correct timing, => free isk (and potential delicious fresh tears), and sometimes a nice killmail with a shiny pod
