Disney Invites Kids to Bring iPads to Theaters for ‘The Little Mermaid’ Re-Release

"According to the app’s trailer, participants will be able to play games, compete with fellow audience members and sing along with the movie."

Thanks Disney. Now us adults will truly stay home.

It's not just the adults. The more quiet and reserved kids won't like it either.
Ruined movie experience for the whole family! \o/

TBH thought, my kids 4 so a Disney flick is always a win, but seriously he's also on the shyer side of things so this WILL ruin any movie going experience for him too. -1 to Disney's think tank

I have nothing exciting or fun to use as a Forum sig... eh, S**t happens...

Apparently Disney is too stupid to manage properly the money they earn. Please, for the good of Disney, don't give them any more money!

(The same applies to Electronic Arts, actually. Don't give them more money! Think of the executives, they've got families too and must try to explain them why did they do what they did!)

Japan is crazy place yo, they eat some things alive or when the food is still moving around the plate and in your mouth!

Once in awhile.

Even in San Fran I only ever encountered live food once at a restaurant. It was live shrimp sashimi.

The restaurant was Chinese.

It is sad that there will always be a group of rabid fanboys who will pre-purchase anything at all giving EA huge sales numbers despite the quality of the eventually released product.

This is why EA can legally declare Simcity a smashing success despite the fact hardly anybody actually plays it.

On the other hand Disney has enough money to legally cover anything they say. Like one of my posted articles said, Disney declared the test of this new method, using "Nightmare Before Christmas" a huge success despite the 5 to 1 negative ratio for it in a poll.

On top of being able to flood any market anywhere in the world with advertising....they are a difficult one to beat down, that's for sure.

haha that is disturbing, how does that ever look satisfying to eat?

I suppose Disney's goal is to get kids to sing fairy quires. Though trying to socialize kids through technology isn't going to work, that's pretty much reverse. I figured families go to theaters to enjoy the show without distractions, not disney church or shop for apps.

I didn't order it. 6 transparent shrimp wriggling on a skewer.................here's dinner !

Now that you mention it, the whole Disney Princess thing is indeed a bit Cult-ish. The Church of Disney. Bring your 'sacred tablet'.

You people sound like cranky old codgers complaining about that gosh-darned internet, kids on your lawn, and the good old days. I doubt kids having a more interactive experience with a movie will affect you in anyway unless you're a die-hard Little Mermaid fan that goes to every screening; what if it is more fun?

Yes, we pine for the days of screaming, singing children in movie theaters, JUST LIKE IN THE OLDEN DAYS.

NOT !

You must be one of those who goes to the Symphony just to violate Rule #3 printed in every symphony playbook across the country: NO LOUD PURSE SNAPPING !

ed: Don't even think things like the "Fast and Furious" sequels are not going to dive into this as well. It's coming.

Funny tidbit to this.

I showed this to the singapore office and they retorted that in Singapore if you or your child are unruly in a theatre there can be a penalty of upto $500, expulsion from the threatre and maybe even community service.

We might seem like cranky old codgers to you. But we've actually very reasonable people with expert knowledge of what's best for culture and civilization.
