Steam Intergration after purchasing game?

Hi,

I have subscribed to the game over 2 years ago and played for a short time.

I then had to stop playing all games for various reasons. I then started playing Eve once more about a week ago.

I have been using steam for a little while, but Eve was never bought or set up via Steam.

Can I add Eve to my Steam game list after the fact, and if so, how?

Thanks

I can't speak for CCP - I'm just an EVE player. But I think you're probably going to have to talk to Steam about that. Usually game publishers don't get involved with Steam specifics, Steam seems to be in its own little world.

Yes you can, it's been ages since i used steam but there is a button or option somewhere on there to add non-steam games.

The add non steam game option in the menu I think.

However be aware that unless I am mistaken EVE does NOT use Steamworks at this time. There is little to gain by adding it.

Tho if you want it to be a "part" of your steam you can always wait until it goes on sale. It often goes down to under 10 I notice and that it 30 days alt you can do with it.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

I know I can add the game as a "Non Steam Game", that is easy enough. The question I was wanting to ask was:

Since you can buy the game through steam, when people do that, then steam tracks their game time online and other stats as well as checks other neat things.

Since I bought the game outside steam it does not track that stuff.

I bought it from steam because it was an easy way to get a 2nd account at the time. I downloaded from it once then copied the folder (Not encrypted like other games on Steam) And just run directly now.

I could care less about the time. The only thing that would have made it worth anything is steam achievements. Which require Steamworks and some way to prevent someone from sharing an "epic" account to pad achievements falsely.

Is there Steam Achievements for EVE? I never heard of any.

Most likely I will just as as a Non Steam game otherwise.

Add it as a non-Steam game. This allows you to use Steam's screen shot service, and the in-game overlay. However, it won't track usage stats. I use it simply because people can still get in touch with me over Steam.

You need some false congratulations in order to have a sense of accomplishment in EVE? EVE is a sandbox, you can't have fixed achievements.

You won't get your time tracked any other way besides actually purchasing it and playing it as a Steam game rather than adding it as a third party game.

I've emailed Steam a couple times on this but never got a response.

your better off not using the steam version tbh... you only use up cpu and memory when you dont need to
