Suggestion to the Skill Queue

Hello everyone and thank you for reading my suggestion.

I am a very new player to EVE and already feel addicted to this massive Universe, but I do not know if my so called suggestion/idea hasn't already been implemented or thought about in the past.

So this is the thing: every time I'm training any specific skill that will give me the possibility of injecting a new one, I always need to be either adding other skills after it so that when it ends and I'm not available, my character continues to train, even if its another skill. What I'd like to do is to be able to inject and train, right after the required skill ends. For example, right now, I'm training Power Grid Management V and I wish to add Thermodynamics right after it. Would it be possible? One thing that I thought could be used to make people think twice before injecting a skill and then not learn it right after, would be to make the skill be taken away from your skills and make the person need to rebuy the skillbook. Oh, and of course, we'd only be able to inject and add to queue if our queue had already become less than a day.

Ok, I know this is one very minor thing to implement and not even a bit necessary, but I do think it would be a nice thing for those with long skill plans to use.

Thanks again for your time,
Rodrik Vikary

Won't happen, CCP wants us to log in every now and then, it encourages people to stay longer.

And they are right.

EvE-Mail me if you need anything.

Well, I see that as necessary, but I don't say this as a way to just leave your character to sort things out.
What I say would be like this: my character needs right now, 18h 33m to finish Power Grid Management V. Since Thermodynamics is my next choice, I'd be able to add it to at least III, with my 5h 27m spare time. This would allow me to do just that. The problem for me is like this, last week, I don't remember with what skill, but I wanted to add the next skill in line that required the one that would end, but it would end around 4:30 (AM) in my time. And I really wanted to train that right away, so I set my alarm clock, woke at 4 and logged in just to inject and add the next skill and go back to sleep. I could have done that another time and added another skill, but that was the one I wanted the most to add, so I did it. In this case, it would be much better to simply be able to add it before going to bed. They could also make it so that you couldn't add other skills before that set you had added, so if you changed your mind you would have to deal with it and add others after the training in queue.

Thanks for your answer,

No to your idea. It would be a first step in automating the training ques and allowing people to not have to log in anymore (and I'll testify to that too... I haven't been logging in much since I've been chewing down 15+ day skills).

Also, for the love of god, use paragraphs! I felt like I was reading the verbal chatter of an overstimulated 5 year old.

That's what everyone had to do for every skill before they had a queue. Also, just train a different skill between a prereq and the the you want to train, like everyone else does. Example: "Power Grid Management V"(whatever the **** that is) - < filler skill > - Thermodynamics1,2,3etc.

I think the OPs suggestion is something CCP is actually considering, although I can't remember if I read that in some CSM minutes, a dev blog or somewhere else.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Use a long buffer skill that you eventually want but is not highly important. You don't need to complete training one skill before training another.

An old thread with a lot of ideas around the same theme as this:

Ok, thank you. I just looked at the most recent ones before posting...should have looked more thoroughly.
