Fastest ship in EVE?

There was a topic over a year ago, not sure if the information is still valid.

I would like to build a couple of the fastest ships. Like maybe the top 3 to play around with for the heck of it. Would someone mind helping me out? which ship and fit would I need/and how fast will its velocity be? also I prefer stable fit, or at least long duration. Thanks!

Assuming budget is no concern and the ship doesn't need to do anything else:-

[Dramiel, Fast (10MN)]
Navy Micro Auxiliary Power Core
Navy Micro Auxiliary Power Core
Navy Micro Auxiliary Power Core

10MN Digital Booster Rockets
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II

[empty high slot]
[empty high slot]
[empty high slot]

Small Ancillary Current Router II
Small Ancillary Current Router I
Small Ancillary Current Router I

With a 5% PG implant and a HG snake set this is cap stable and goes over 10 km/s - over 13 km/s with a maxed OGB. If you quaff a quafe zero I think you can hit 14km/s. There's a similar Daredevil fit which goes faster on paper, but you need officer cap rechargers to make it cap stable, so let's skip that one :)

Edit: If you overheat, you can theoretically get over 20km/s, but I suspect your engines will burn out before you reach max speed.

Fast and fun t3 bc with a 100mn easily stable tornado can hit 6km/s and stable at 42% with max skills no implants
almost 9km/s oh
probably not the fastest but only real ship im made for pure speed any other ship i can think of with oversize mwd is either slower not cap stable or has serious pg issues

1) Slowboat a Dramiel to the core of a sun

2) set up a bookmark once you reach it (careful, you're going to get bounced).

3) warp to a station

4) fit a triage/siege carrier/dreadnought (Archon/Revelation for extra inertia), board it

5) warp to the bookmark, hit siege/triage

6) ???

7) profit.

Cheetah with 2x Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II will do 3.2 x 10^9 km/s.

But its mostly for drag races, cant turn well.

Crusader is faster by virtue of not needing a PG implant so it can have the whole snake set. Peaks out at 46.5km/s in a C6 black hole with skirmish links

No sig.

no relivant now but for sh1ts n giggles sake, I once had a crow doing 148km/s (no implants or boosters) this was back in 2005 ish. was a tri-mwd fit. serious cap issues tho. to the point that if you didn't stagger the mwd's correctly you couldn't always hit the 3rd one. On the same note, i had a tri-mwd thorax doing 38km/s. that thing did not wanna turn tho. I started 500km off the station, and over shot it by 250km Lol

Doesn't the Daredevil edge the Crusader out (either through higher base speed or lower mass)? Again it doesn't require the Implant for PG and can therefore load full Snakes.

It's certainly faster than the Daredevil or Dramiel (11.7km/s with HG Snake), but I don't see a way to get the cap to last longer than about 1.5 minutes.

In comparison, the Dramiel does 10.4km/s stable at 34% with HG Snake (no Omega) and 5% PG, and the Daredevil 10.2 km/s stable at 38% with HG Snake, or 11km/s if you don't mind splashing out for an officer Cap Recharger.

If you use the 100MN Digital Booster Rockets, you don't need any fitting mods at all on quite a few cruisers, but the SFI is still quite a lot slower than the Daredevil/Dramiel/Crusader (only 9km/s with HG Snake). You also need to lose Overdrive Injectors (or use officer Cap Rechargers) to make it cap stable.

Curiously, the Daredevil's base speed is actually quite a bit slower than the Crusader (384 vs 455), and the penalty from our oversized MWD kind of eclipses differences in base mass.

Ok. And like I said, that's slower than the Dramiel (15.3km/s overheated, no loki), Daredevil (16.2km/s overheated, no loki), or the Crusader (17.2 km/s overheated, no loki).

More importantly:-

I don't think overheated fits that also run out of cap in less than a minute are what the OP is looking for.

I once managed to bump/slingshot out of a sun (after scanning down an empty ship that was parked there and warping on it).

That bump sent me almost 2 AU within 8 minutes, so I guess that was the fastest flight I ever took outside of a warp bubble.
My ship was an Anathema.

What need would there be for a ship that goes faster than 3km/s?
