What is Morphite actually used for?

I'm building a production spreadsheet, but I'm wondering if I can ignore Morphite. None of the current T1 things I want to build require it. Various hulls, drones, ammo. And if I can omit it, I'll have more screen real estate to use for other things.

What is it used for?

All T2 items (other than rigs) use it. Also the new scanning modules.

Cloaks use it as well.

I was on a mix of it and Oxycodone for a 3 day hospital stay when I broke my arm. I understand why people get addicted to opiates.
