I feel that most stations have (Minmatar Hub comes to mind) stations have absurdly big docking ranges. Could this be looked into and rebalanced so it is at least reasonably follows the modeling of the stations? You can literally be 50km off from where you actually hit the station and still be at 0km of it and it just does not make any sense.

The king wants to flex his vindi perhaps?

Haha, no matter...

I agree, docking ranges should end 10-15 km (at most) from undock point in the direction of undock and in the appropriate distance around station relevant to that distance if you draw a sphere centered on middle of the station.

+1 to OP

That aside, how goes the bear purge now that the probes are working again?

EvE-Mail me if you need anything.

Figured you would notice how to center the sig by doubleclicking.
Never really affected me either but it was a hassle.

That aside which max dock range would you propose?

I honestly think amarr stations(while it might sound bias) have small enough dock range so you can still be safe if you know where and it's very easy to screw it up if you are not careful. I always liked when even the simplest stuff has some learning curve.

So about 5 km from where you actually hit the station is big enough "bubble" imho.

ps. I have to be honest and say that i didn't know about the centering stuff. i just used directional scanner and map to triangulate where the ship is and drop probes around the ship. Now i know :D

Well there are more than one way to do it, I know all of them but centering on sig was the easiest.

As for 5 km that might be a bit of a stretch for people with slow computer because the environment wouldn't load until they are out of dock range depending on what ship they would be in.

I'd like free kills like that but it might be a bit broken.

If you just spam ctrl+space you don't really drift that far unless you are in an interceptor or something like that. and even then you are safe just by moving back.

But imo dealing with slow computers is marginal issue and is something that shouldn't be given that much weight when thinking about this. There are also people that will just die in fire regardless of the situation.
