Well this is fun...

Repair attempted multiple times, same Permission Denied errors. FAIL.

Uninstalled completely.

Reinstalled, got 1003 error with the archives. FAIL.

Downloaded the Repair.exe from a Dev link somewhere on the forums, dropped it into its own empty folder, and ran it. Spent 2 hours downloading "missing" files (which would be all of them), then started restoring them.

Had the offline installer downloading on another machine (and by the gods, its slow going), so that is my next and final option

Any CCP suggestions would be great about now...

Copy your eve directory into a new file, ignore files that won't copy. Run repair tool again in that folder.

A couple of files went bad, but repair tool fixed em and I'm up and running again from the launcher.

You kinda start from scratch in the new client, but it got my client after hours or trying just about every workaround I could find.

Well finally got the offline installer to download, installed it and it worked!

Then it attempted to patch to the most recent patch and it broke!

Does CCP even read these forums? Theres a ton of posts with people complaining about patching problems and there doesnt seem to be a resolution.

Some GM/Dev/Divine guidance would be great about now...

I'm not computer savy but what your saying is... Go to programs, find eve folder, right click copy, paste onto desktop, double click, find eve repair, cross fingers...

I've done these things am i doing it wrong?
