The last patch( a few days ago) I had problems with installing the patch. That time I installed the patch with the launcher.

The launcher then decides that it will stop at 3/4 of the progress and dont give me any error messages.
The repair tool refuses to work and I can't do anything. I have to download the full install files and install eve over again.

Now today there is a new patch, this time I start the exefile directly and download and start patching. So today I get the patching window and I get an error saying I have to go look in my appdata folder for the error log.

This is what the log says:

Exception in thread Thread-1:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "threading.pyc", line 530, in __bootstrap_inner
File "threading.pyc", line 483, in run
File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 305, in DownloadPart
File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 401, in ReadRemoteData
File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 319, in ReadRemoteData
File "httplib.pyc", line 1013, in getresponse
ResponseNotReady

Getting this message I go and start the repair.exe tool so the game can repair itself.

Here I get a error message to at the end:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "repairTool\progressPanel.pyc", line 82, in _TaskRun
File "repairTool\repairUI.pyc", line 97, in Start
File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 199, in Repair
File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 359, in Restore
File "zsync\zsync.pyc", line 422, in RestoreFolder
FileSyncError: Too many retries

See full error message here: http://pastebin.com/4P1EkADb
I also get this error log from the appdata folder: http://pastebin.com/e0WamLwR

I don't know what is wrong with windows 8 and eve patching.

btw my computer is a ASUS S551L 64-bit.

Has anybody got any solution for this, or do I have to download the full version of every update?

I am having the same problem. I also had to completely redownload the offline files.

Repair NEVER works. It just crashes.

I was able to get EVE running after several HOURS or scrubbing and reinstalling.

PLEASE FIX THIS. EVERY PATCH BREAKS GAME.

I just did this two day ago and you repatch it and break it all over again.

Same again for me.

Update failed, tried again from exe failed tried from bin exe and it ruins all shortcuts and the main folder exe. .. repair appears to complete everytime (10+) but has no positive effect.

Looks like i'll be downloading the whole client for the 3rd time in the last 3 patches. Although I really don't want to.

win 7.
virus protection off.

(solved) (win7 via BootCamp)

The aforementioned patch broke my launcher similarly. Closing and attempting several hours later solved the issue.
Today's patch broke the launcher again. I get ~35% through the patch process w/launcher and it fails with message 1, below. Repair exe fails with message 2, below.
Manual patch thread appears outdated w/broken links. Any fix?

Message 2:

Running the below results in an error message:

If you still get the grey progress bar that downloads an update, you should try this: http://content.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_559197.exe

The specified module could not be found.
LoadLibrary(pythondll) failed.

(no buttons, just the windows X)

Next Dialog:
File location. I believe it was python27.dll.

Running this launcher download a second time smoothed everything out and now I'm running.

Good luck.

Setting launcher to: run as admin, run as windows 7, repair the game, run launcher (not starting the patcher via the direct .exe)

That worked

One way trip! Why dont you drive?

Try recopying game directory to a new folder, and running the repair tool there. Then recopy and overwrite old files in old directory and you get your settings back and shortcuts working again.

Even got the launcher working again after odyssey 1.1 broke it for me.

Some kind of file permissions error happened in mine when patching so moving the files reset all of that and it worked.

New patch yesterday, and I get the same error as i did last patch.

This is not fun, having to download the whole game over again for the 3rd time in days!

Also when i start patching you get the popup window saying do you want to allow this program to start.

the program name that comes up is: evepremiumpatch590158.exe

I tried deleting this, it downloaded the patch again and same name on that file, don't think it has anything to say but just noticed it.

I've seen this file too. And also found it in weird places, outside of EVE directory trees.

Time to buy some grass and alcohol for PATCH day. More GB to spent on my provider. I wonder if this is a conspiracy between CCCP and several internet providers to make us spent our precious real life cash. Another patch another download.

Im also upset. The Known patch issues link is a 404 error. THere isn't a MANUAL DOWNLOAD link for the launcher. I don't know what the current version of it is or I'd download it. The old ones don't work. Repair causes errors. I had a ticket and got the delete manifest then run repair bs response after a three day lag.

CCP's MUST READ Stickies on known patcher issues.

http://community.eveonline.com/updates/knownissues.asp

Thanks CCP Spitfire for maintaining your MUST READ page at the top, first link.

I mean it really seems to be a permissions thing in Windows or the client has a protocol error or something during the download.

Doesn't work for most on this issue .. it may solve some other symptom of the repairer not working but stop touting this in the launcher issue threads..

This issue is with the launcher since 1.1 and does not effect everyone.

Same problem here. Patch day - broken client. Running Windows 7 - get the same python error evertime. Can't find useful information to help. C'mon CCP - get with it or, if you have, do some SOE on the search term so we can find the fix!

Pissed I have to d/l the client again..

Could you be a bit more precise about the error you are getting? This thread is pretty old, there were some launcher versions released since then, and it originally referencing Windows 8.

Third patch third day of the same problem.

Launcher get to 3/4 100 Per cent and then just freezes.
Ran the repair tool, got to (6/7) Downloading patch: 78.5%, 1.07 MB/1.37 MB, 47.18 KB/s, 00m06s And now it has frozen.

Repair log: http://pastebin.com/1rCKxiri

The way i got it to work yesterday and the day before is that i just ran the repair program a couple of times, after what it did not work. I just left it and came back to EVE a few hours later and everything was working.

But i rather not do that every day.

Edit: 3 min later i try again to start the game as an ADMIN, it works fine. I have no idea what is the matter here. I do notice a lot of errors in the repair tool log.
I am running win 8 btw.
