I haven't seen a thread about this, so if I missed it, sorry. I did look.

My POS will now be safer for the same fuel. Thank you very much. I am very happy about this change. Smile

All can say is "keep on going with pos changes...so much work to make them fun rather than a torture to run"

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

I hope they can implement some of these ideas for a modular POS system in the future.

I really want them to fix the alliance settings on POS. Small alliances can send 1-3 people to a POS from each corp, so there is only 5-18 people using it.
More people using it, makes more demands and they would naturally expand to more POSes. In the mean time, the small are more vulnerable with multiple POSes that are under used and under protected.

If you look at the top of the Blog page you'll find the link to the official thread Blink

It does look like CCP are trying to fix some of the annoying things with Eve... I hope it continues.

That is what they (CCP) are aiming for, it is one of the priorities of the current CSM (after much needed updates on other items) and it would be in itself a grand update and universal change for everyone in EVE (high, low and 0.0 secs).

52 pages though. I doubt they will see my hope for small alliances in all that.

Yea, well, the drawback is that getting a POS that is utilizing 100% CPU and PG is very close to impossible... so... you are basicly going to pay for that extra capacity. Instead of neeeding 30 + 150k of the diffrent PG/CPU fuels every month you will require 150+150k in order to turn it into fuel pellets...

While this change will make just about every 0.0 POS monkey happy as a pig in mud it is adding an additional stage to the POS fueling if you live in WH space. We make most of our PI fuel ourselves and this new system would require us to either haul the PI products out or haul the ice products in... well, we are already hauling ice products in, but now we are going to need a lot more space to haul the added mass of the new requirements.

Personally I would like it if both methods were available. If you fuel it with the multi fuel then you only use as much fuel as you have stuff onlined. If you use the other method of using fuel pellets you can online everything without worrying about the fuel and also the simplicity.

This should be interesting - a whole new POS fuel block manufacturing industry is about to be born. What's next, compressed POS fuel blocks? :)

The change is great. I think most people crying about that "extra step" will soon get over it when they find out how much better it is to haul 1 item type rather then 8. No more oops, crap i forgot item 2 out of 8. Back to X market to pick up that last piece. More wasting time.

How funny would it be if they, in changing fuels to the blue pellets bade it so that any POSes can be fueled by any ice

Not only that but it's easier to manipulate the price of one item than of eight different ite oh wait I wasn't supposed to....

You can manufacture the new fuel in an ammo assembly array, so you can just keep doing what you're doing now and anchor an extra corp hangar array to store the new fuel.

Current system is perfect in terms of modularity because current system can be configured for so many different uses that the modular system suggestions are completely failing to cover. Like having a tower that can store hundreds of ships and capitals or a tower with a single sma and plenty of corp hangars and silos and reactors, etc.

Not just funny. It would be freaking AWESOME!

Would really stick one in the thugs' eyes. Twisted

Won't you be able to combine them in your POS? So, same as usual + one step?

(I do think that the fuel should have been 80-90% of there max is now, but me, not too fussed)

Doesnt this just hugely tax Moon Miners? Or even small corps who are trying to put up a tower to base their attack from?

"War declarations are never officially considered griefing and are not a bannable offense, and it has been repeatedly stated by the developers that the possibility for non-consensual PvP is an intended feature." - CCP

No, they don't have to put 100% fuel into it, just a few blocks.

Although it adds one more step to W-space POS fueling, it removes several other steps.

Right now I got to check the fuel in the POS and the fuel in storage, see how much remains of each type, enter it all into a spreadsheet and have it find what to buy to exactly fill my hauler. Go get the fuel, return, put some in storage, the rest on the POS. As the POS uses fuel, I got to mote up to 8 different fuel types, different anounts of each, from storage to the POS.

New system: The shopping list is always the same. Just post it for everyone who does fuel runs. No need to do inventory or mess with the spreadsheet. Dump the fuel in the ammo array along with the in-system PI we make, do a manufacturing run. When the POS is low, move a single item, fuel blocks, to the POS.

I think by modular they mean in terms of structure - currently a pos with more than a handful of modules causes large ships to bounce around, and is a hassle to travel around to gather things for production/research/hauling/fitting unless you stuck all the mods to the corp hangar (causes bouncing)

Why you no care?
