When Do I Get My GOLDEN POD?

That comes with delivery of the full box set since it is not a pre-purchase item - "the Collector’s Edition will begin shipping on October 24th 2013!"

You can go play with it on the test server in the meantime Smile
Is there going to be a way to get in or out of the Golden Pod, or once you plug in the implant that's it? I'd really prefer the option. Don't misunderstand: I think the Golden Pod is great, but will it be great once the novelty wears off?

Also, getting in or out doesn't refer to CQ--I mean get in Golden or in a "regular" pod.

Since this is an implant that gives you the shiney gold pod, it would sadly be destroyed once removed.

So does that mean when you get podded, you lose your Golden Pod for good?

If, so, I guess I will never put implant in, because I do get podded.

No, the description on the implant says that Genolution made a deal to continually resupply them. You won't lose it, but the implant was likely the best way to implement the pod.

Enter grid and you're already dead, destined to be reborn and fight another day.

Wait the Gold Pod is an Implant?!

If so this is no good...

Unless its gets a New Slot.

It fits into slot 79, and is not removed during podding or jump cloning and is also the only implant to use slot 79.

When you purchase the Promo Pack from the EVE Store you will only receive the pre-purchase items once, even when you use the certificate to claim your full copy of the Collector's Edition. You cannot claim a second set of pre-purchase items by using this offer.

Thanks for the clarification.

79 is atomic number for gold.

Would be neat to have it toggleable in some way, but obviously that's harder to implement (I just dont want to get podded first in every fleet ;_;)

Just to confirm: the only way to get the golden pod is to purchase the full collector's edition; it will not come with the promo pack?

Promo pack only includes pre-order items: tattoo, implants, thrasher, Dust drop uplink

wait, am i reading this right that people are whining and screaming "haaalp pay to win" about 2 implants that no ones actually going to use? god forbid some carebears go 1% faster than their non collector edition counterparts. No PVPers are going to actually fly around with their CA 3 and CA 4s if theyre are indeed so limited. So the only place i even see people who bought these having a "unfair" advantage is pure mission runners, and even at that theire bonuses are quite small.

While I'm excited about the Collectors' Edition itself, I'm pretty disappointed by the Promo Pack offer.

I (and I'm sure many many others) shelled out to pre-order the Collectors Edition a) to support a game I've played continuosly since beta made by developers whom I've met personally, and b) to get access to content that is unique to those who have pre-ordered the Collectors Edition or bought it from them.

Offering a large portion of the supposedly limited edition content for a lower price enormously devalues the Collectors Edition for me (and the value of the items on the ingame market, though I care about this less).

I don't want a refund, as fundamentally reason a) above is more important to me, but I want to register than this feels like a slap in the face to those of us who value the "limited" in "limited edition".

I'm sure many others who have pre-ordered the collectors edition will ask for a refund so they can buy the cheaper promo pack instead.

I'd also really like an assurance that none of these items (e.g. the Genolution implants) will ever be given away in any other context, because again, we are shelling out a LOT of money here and that would considerably undermine the value received.

Quote:
The EVE Online pre-purchase items are timed exclusives, available initially to pre-purchase customers and available to trade in the marketplace. They will be made publicly available via in-game markets and promotions at a later date.

This is also seriously not OK to be applied retrospectively. It needs to be made very clear, on an item by item basis, which items are unique and which may be mass-released later. The way this was handled for the tattoos was fine (i.e. told from the original announcement it was just a pre-release).

CCP have stated the pre-purchase items (tattoo sleeves, Amarr Uplink, Nefantur Thrasher, Genolution 3/4 implants) will all be available/released in-game at a later date - and probably sooner rather than later. Blink The tattoo sleeves were promised ages ago but disappeared from trace. I expect they will be available either from the NEX store and/or LP stores by Christmas time. The Amarr Uplink will be introduced probably as an 'Aurum' item in DUST 514 by Christmas time as well. The Nefantur Thrasher and the 3/4 Genolution implants will probably be available as choices of gift for Xmas as we have had for other items at Christmas.

On the other hand I DON'T think in-game, and probably physical items, within the collectors box should be available outside of purchasing the limited edition collectors box otherwise it obviously isn't limited edition in any sense of the word.

Also I do think it should be one or two PLEX codes rather than a start up new account code. Then it would not be a potentially useless item for those who already play EVE Online but do not need to start up another account. That should be obvious really to CCP. Shocked
