Fit missile launcher on Viator

Supposedly the Viator is a defensive hauler, but it can only fit a turret on its one high slot.

It ought to have the ability to fit a missile launcher for use of defenders.

I have an Idea!!!! Let Viator's fit a covert ops cloak. That will really increase defensiveness.

...people use defender missiles? Ever?

Do they even work yet?

Well, I didn't say it was a practical idea, just a logical idea.

Also, along the same lines the ship should be module unscannable, not just cargo unscannable. Ie, if the focus of the ship is defensive capability then it is more important and more pertinent for it to be able to hide its modules, than hide its cargo.

It's a hauler. It's made of tissue paper, whatever you do to it. If you are getting scanned by someone with hostile intentions, you are already dead. Hiding your modules will do absolutely nothing. Just fit a cloak like a normal person, it's a blockade runner, not a battleship.

A defensive hauler can be made gank resistent for travel through empire. Being able to hide your modules is critical because if the gankers know your modules they can fit their gank ships (caracals, whatever) with the appropriate stuff to exploit your weakness. Also, they can exactly calculate how many gank ships they need to take you down. Its all about lasting long enough until Concord blows them up. If my modules are hidden it will be a lot harder for the ganksters to plot their attack and know how many gank ships they need.

If you're making a gank resistant hauler, why would you use a blockade runner? They're already resistant, thanks to the COVERT OPS CLOAK they fit. They're also made entirely out of tissue paper, and lack the fitting slots for a decent tank. Hell, they only have one high, if you want to fit a gun in that in your 100mil+ paper thin cloaky hauler, you're probably suffering from head trauma anyway.

Use a DST if you want gank resistant. HAC grade tank, and three times the cargo capacity of a blockade runner. Of course, they maneuver like dead pigs, but that's the drawback.

And why use missile ships for a gank squad? Use catalysts for DPSing them, or tornados for alphaing...

Are you perhaps getting the Viator confused with its counterpart the Occator?

The Viator is a stealth transport, designed for sneaking through hostile territory undetected. Hostile players don't care what modules it has - they only have to sneeze in its direction to take it down. The trick is finding it in the first place.

The Occator is the battering ram transport, designed for more openly blitzing past any hostile ships attempting to stop it. This is the tankier Blockade Runner that is more likely to fit the situations you are describing.

This would be a Deep Space Transport. It's a Tech 2 ship. Use that if you want an unscannable cargo hold.

Also I fail to see how having a missile launcher "just for defenders" is logical...
